Mt Nebo in Jordan? I wonder what these Ethiopian Orthodox christians in the mountainous areas of Northern Ethiopia would say. These devouted christians have a church with the ark in it and it is guarded day and night. Needless to say this is interesting news if you are interested in it.
Oh no...not another one that make a serious mistake! Wondering if there is any sense of "sin" in peopleĀ“s lives anymore. I remember awhile back when one CEO of a major company (that went bust) said before he went before the court that he was a good christian. terv davey
I would hate the thought of the abuses that go along with all this wealth. With the wealth comes the power and status of being untouchable....but see what has happens to two of those mentioned in the article. terv.davey
Such is life for those who think it is their interpretation of scripture....a religious/spiritual feeling that is so overwhelming that one cannot know the person of Christ in these meetings. terv davey
ThatĀ“s where most of all the dollars, pounds and Euros are going to...these wealthy countries in the M.E. They are awash in petro bucks. The Saudis blame the American & British oil speculators and the speculators are basing it on fear of what may happen in the future. May God have mercy upon these people. terv. davey
To those who have studied the roots of Jewish Christianity..i.e..the century before and after Jesus..it will only add depth to understand the Jewish theological and messianic thinking during these times. I would like to see what the tablet does say. terv davey
It would really be interesting to see how the Orthodox & Catholics will theological/doctrinal and credal unite. Since there are many differences in understanding their own theologies (one is the Filogue)...will they unite for the sake of being "christian" in this many christian-denominational world, without being negative towards the other theological difference. terv.davey
PS Several centuries ago in Russia, there was a new change when one bishop wanted to the Russian church be more Grecian. It brought about much suffering between the Old Believers who did not want this change and the ones who thought they should change....this brought persceuction towards the Old Believers.
Lance E...Hei...Orthodox are not catholics in a Roman Catholic sense...many of their doctrines are different than the Roman doctrines. For example, Orthodox do not believe in puratory, nor the immculate conception. What I have found out is that Luther in his origins and in the Wittenberg traditions of the Reformation is alot closer to Orthodoxy than to Roman doctrine. I am found out that couple of Luthern mentors & the Orthodox were in communications during the time of the Reformation; but for semantic differences (I believe) the talks broke off after awhile. hei..hei..davey
PS..info from internet along with good theological/doctrinal book & contacts
One thinks that in this pluralistic society that things will grow more into paganism and away from biblical christianity. Just watched a video on the growth of christianity in China, and people are seeking more than what their economic boom can give. (Go to Frontline). For a long time, Americans have been in a spiritual vacumn seeking some connection, but they will not get it without Christ. terv. davey
I canĀ“t complain about living over here...there are dozens of other Americans that I personally know and they donĀ“t complain. All of these of course are married to Finns. (Most I know have been here for 10 yrs or more) For others who think they can just pack-up, leave and move to Europe, beware you are going to go through lots of paper work and reasons and source of incomes so you donĀ“t become a ward of the State. All of this paper work will be done in the States and visits to the nearest Embassy. Something to think about. Terv davey
