Rob wrote: A. Yes God has indeed used the KJV, but he has also used other versions to His glory. A2. In the past 50yrs the Christian faith has progressed at a faster rate than ever before, not via the KJV. B. The King James version does not come from a superior text (texts)it is a translation from comparatively very few later manuscripts. c. It still amazes me that people think, or act like Wescott and Hort actually wrote the GK texts B and א Surely this nonsense about W&H needs to be shelved D. Well that's not much of an argument! A. "other versions to His glory" (?) That is an assumption. Check Matt 7:21-23 and be certain that human perception is not always correct.A2. Which planet are you referring to? EG The UK churches have declined both in size AND doctrine in the last five decades. B. That is a complete lie! C. Westcott and Hort - Two Anglican Liberal heretics with Popish leanings and convictions and spiritualism and doubts as to Bible precepts etc. No "Christian" would ever allow these servants of Satan anywhere near their Bible doctrines. Whilst they would NEVER allow them input to God's Holy Word. D. 2Peter 1:10. May God bring you to His Truth! |

Rob wrote: Citing the fact that the evangelical church (of which I am a part) is a laughing stock is not name calling. It is definately not calling someone an offensive name, like Arminian! Suggesting that my post is about quote, "these superstitious, traditional hobby horses the better"RE:: KJV; The reason I defend this version of God's Holy Writ and not the modern version is because (A) God used it for 400 years, (B) KJV comes from a superior Greek text. (C) That Text did not use the input of Two heretics and their textual criticism. (D) Nor would I use the Nestle-Aland. As for "Psalms Only" - THIS IS the Word of God. Please feel free to use the alternative word of sinners INSTEAD if you will. Thus not superstition and not hobby horse. _________________ Michael. Glad to see a devout Arminian as yourself sticks up for the other side - Helps put my point across. But it really is time you left your old papist theology more completely behind. ___________________ Hello Mike. Got snow yet? We have. Ref your post please read my words above to Rob. |

Rob wrote: Earlier I said 'The evangelical church has become a laughing stock, and the sooner we can put to bed these superstitious, traditional hobby horses the better.' The comment below, is a perfect example! Sounds like another Arminian. |

Reformanda wrote: Sometimes I wonder why it is not considered aa a bad thing when some churches are NIV-only, or ESV-only, or NASB-only?? Is it not a tragic thing to witness the utter confusion that has arisen because some churches have 4 or 5 versions among attendees and yet another version employed in the pulpit?? Sinnerkind has never been happy or satisfied with ONE. His natural bent is to contend and he does this in every group he enters, including family. Thus to be content with ONE Bible is against his natural propensity, whereas to contend he would require another alternative. He was not satisfied with ONE praise book (the Psalms) therefore he cobbled up another called hymns, this being precursor to another Bible. Not being content with ONE Bible the KJV - naturally he manufactured others eg NIV, NASB, ESV, NEB, NLT, uncle tom cobley and et al. |
