Sc...we as Christians all love truth.
I applaud that you diligently seek it.
However I have to tell you that your approach and your attitude toward some on the board comes across as self righteous and judgemental.
Hope you will receive this as a gentle reminder "a soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger".

Hey Baptists!
Do you think these verses imply that GOD hasn't revealed His whole counsel to you? And that is why you don't have a Covenant of Grace with Christ???

Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Oh and the word here recorded "testament" is diatheke in the Greek.
Which is the same word for "COVENANT" - So blood of the Covenant - Has it been shed for YOU???

Matt 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

John Y,
If you even bother to look up the verse I gave you, look this one up also.
Hebrews 5:9.
If you are truly born from above you WILL obey Him and want to please Him or you will be chastened by the Father.

If Jesus is your Lord then you'll be concerned to do what he commands. Did you ever study the bible to see what 'church' Christ is the head of? Did you ever ask what church you should belong to? Have you ever been concerned about the Lord's will in this matter or is it just another matter in a long line of such matters where you simply ask his forgiveness for disobeying him?
John, have you ever read Acts 2.42 and specifically the words "They continued stedfastly in the Apostles' doctrine and Fellowship..."? Why do you think doctrine and fellowship was soooo important to these early disciples and why was it important enough for God to record this about them? Now you enjoy neither a people who continue stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and as you have admitted already you do not have fellowship! So John what do you suppose God thinks of your claim to have him as your Lord?
Yes he has. John Y has been coming here for over ten years, the conversation doesn't get any deeper.
And then it just starts up again as if the issues presented previously are of no importance. Its just a distraction I think. Something to get you hooked.
They come everyday - they are addicts. But the church is always behind with these kind of problem

Please be comforted in knowing that many of your brethren are praying for Kate and your family. Very sorry for the actions of one who needs to repent and ask forgiveness. She also needs prayer. You and your family are in our thoughts and Prayers.

I hope I didn't make you feel bad. I do enjoy your reasoning and arguments on some topics.

For the record, a few of the men have changed their handles when attacking as well, but oddly, their IP's are anonymized or spoofed. Makes one wonder...

Looking forward to reading your always interesting and sometimes intriguing posts. We need the balance that comes from the female points of view.

Because, Phoebe, instead of taking the high road in the face of conflict, you and xcath went on the impersonation circuit. The both of you began hurling random insults in various threads because you are angry with a few of the guys.

I like having women on the board and have tremendous respect for the both of you because, up until recently anyway, no matter what, you stood your ground, telling posters exactly what your thoughts were. Not that you were right, not that they were right, but I always respect a strong woman who won't back down...even when ganged up on.

“ Great Sermon! ”
You should also do an expose on nursing home care of the elderly and how the low standard of care hastens their departure from life and or makes them drastically deteroiate (like aged ten years in a week.) Please preach about how we Christians should be caring for our elderly in our homes, not dumping them in the nearest nursing home and paying people to do the job we can and should do a 1000% better (because it is done with love) at home.

It was my understanding that the Church was the responcible party for the poor, the stranger, the fatherless and the widow. This would be a great shift from the present social welfare system. It is also my understanding that it is the Government's responsibility that the nation preaches the true Gospel, for it is the greatest means to bring peace and prosperity to any nation. Knox said it was the Government that supported the Ministry financially and then taxes would be part of the tithe in a New Testament sense. Knox knew that Church and State were separate institutions but he expected them to work together in the best interest of their people. The Civil sword is greatly unburdened when it citizens are under the power of the true gospel.

Jim Lincoln wrote:
Concerned, I didn't find any mention in the Cal Thomas article, Suppose Michele Bachmann is right?.
From the article more context "What else would infiltration look like? It’s more than an academic question, or a subject for spy novelists. Those who attack Michele Bachmann should answer it.

It might look like CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, which sent a nasty letter to Bachmann concerning her comments about Ms. Abedin. CAIR’s executive director, Nihad Awad, wrote, “We remain eternally grateful that, like Sen. Joseph McCarthy before you, your power is limited, enumerated, and constrained by our nation’s constitution.”

Evasion.
