Did you ever ask what church you should belong to? Have you ever been concerned about the Lord's will in this matter or is it just another matter in a long line of such matters where you simply ask his forgiveness for disobeying him? John, have you ever read Acts 2.42 and specifically the words "They continued stedfastly in the Apostles' doctrine and Fellowship..."? Why do you think doctrine and fellowship was soooo important to these early disciples and why was it important enough for God to record this about them? Now you enjoy neither a people who continue stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and as you have admitted already you do not have fellowship! So John what do you suppose God thinks of your claim to have him as your Lord?
Yes he has. John Y has been coming here for over ten years, the conversation doesn't get any deeper. And then it just starts up again as if the issues presented previously are of no importance. Its just a distraction I think. Something to get you hooked. They come everyday - they are addicts. But the church is always behind with these kind of problem
Your daughter Please be comforted in knowing that many of your brethren are praying for Kate and your family.
Very sorry for the actions of one who needs to repent and ask forgiveness.
She also needs prayer.
You and your family are in our thoughts and
Because, Phoebe, instead of taking the high road in the face of conflict, you and xcath went on the impersonation circuit. The both of you began hurling random insults in various threads because you are angry with a few of the guys.
I like having women on the board and have tremendous respect for the both of you because, up until recently anyway, no matter what, you stood your ground, telling posters exactly what your thoughts were. Not that you were right, not that they were right, but I always respect a strong woman who won't back down...even when ganged up on.
Great Sermon! You should also do an expose on nursing home care of the elderly and how the low standard of care hastens their departure from life and or makes them drastically deteroiate (like aged ten years in a week.) Please preach about how we Christians should be caring for our elderly in our homes, not dumping them in the nearest nursing home and paying people to do the job we can and should do a 1000% better (because it is done with love) at home.
It was my understanding that the Church was the responcible party for the poor, the stranger, the fatherless and the widow. This would be a great shift from the present social welfare system. It is also my understanding that it is the Government's responsibility that the nation preaches the true Gospel, for it is the greatest means to bring peace and prosperity to any nation. Knox said it was the Government that supported the Ministry financially and then taxes would be part of the tithe in a New Testament sense. Knox knew that Church and State were separate institutions but he expected them to work together in the best interest of their people. The Civil sword is greatly unburdened when it citizens are under the power of the true gospel.
From the article more context "What else would infiltration look like? It’s more than an academic question, or a subject for spy novelists. Those who attack Michele Bachmann should answer it.
It might look like CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, which sent a nasty letter to Bachmann concerning her comments about Ms. Abedin. CAIR’s executive director, Nihad Awad, wrote, “We remain eternally grateful that, like Sen. Joseph McCarthy before you, your power is limited, enumerated, and constrained by our nation’s constitution.”

1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see. 2 O Lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save! 3 Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention. 4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you. 6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's. 7 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves
There is a problem in any nation when their judgment and dignity proceeds from themselves and not from God.
The first thought that comes to my mind is: if Mr. Romney meets with other men of influence and power who themselves do not have a particular interest in promoting the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, (the Jesus Christ who is revealed in both the Old and New Testament Scriptures), then what they will be promoting is an interest against His, for they are against Him as The Way, the Truth and the Life and not for Him and though they tolerated Him, none do worship Him as the Word that was in the beginning with God and was God, by whom all things were made and without Him was nothing made that was made.
this is wrong As Christians we need to speak out against this to ensure laws are enacted to make this illegal. The acceleration of sin and depravity in the world is exploding. Yes, women are dressed immodestly in public but they are still CLOTHED! This latest sin is publicly viewing naked people engaged in sexual acts and innocent people are having to unwillingly this this filth in public. What is next? Public nudity and fornication being OK in public, and the local businesses, councils, libraries, airlines etc saying "well, there's nothing we can do." How is this any different just because it is on a computer screen.
Not a popular topic! Although this was a much-needed message in today's Christian culture, I do have to take exception to one point that was made. Married people DO need to pray about this and not just "hop into bed with their spouse" to "deal with the issue of lust". Only God can change the heart and give the desire for the physical act and the desire for one's spouse. Otherwise, it becomes a chore and a biblical duty that can lead to bitterness and resentment toward each other.
Is The laws of Britain insufficient that we need some other radical law. What does this so called high court judge know about sharia law. Is he just saying rubbish to actract attention this appears to be the reason to oppose the good things of our society today. God help all of us with people like this who call themselves knowledgeable.
YES IT IS LEGALISM!!! amen and amen. Patriarchy as it is taught viz. Vision Forum, Doug Phillips, Sovereign Grace Ministries, and Nancy Leigh DeMoss style is legalistic. They have distorted truth and made it a set of rules. There are so many patriarchy followers now in reformed circles, not sure why. Bill Gottard was/is also heavy into this stuff. Those courtship books did nothing to discourage this unbiblical extremist view that is demeaning to women and putting families in bondage everywhere...
'Just wondered what your thoughts on this are. How does God look upon such a person? How should we as christians look upon them?'
I am covered in tattoos, something I can be ashamed of when other well meaning believers turn up there nose at such an obvious statement of former rebellion, UNTIL I REMEMBER I know they are under the blood and forgiven! They might not wash off but like all my far more wicked sins they are 'washed in his own blood' Rev 1: 5 etc
In context above I was stating that we rightly rejoice when say an unmarried sodomite/bisexual/adulterer who has destroyed lives repents and by grace turns his life around to marry. His sins are washed away and remembered no more (except by certain christians). YET the innocent party when his unsaved wife commits adultery, deserts the family home and remarries somehow commits an unpardonable sin (in some eyes) and suffers for the consequences of a Christ hating spouse. Tell me how you think God looks upon that innocent party for there lies the crux of the matter?
I believe from scripture I am no longer under bondage and free to remarry a believer. Am I left as an innocent party 'to avoid fornication let every man have his own wife'- 'better to marry than burn'or should it be 'burn than to marry'? Interesting
