Thank you Brian and Doris Johnson - We who are called Christian need more like you who are not afraid to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and offer a free copy of His Word, the Bible, to all who would take one. May we join them in proclaiming the truth.
Whatever happened to understanding that a sin big or small (in our eyes) is still a sin? I remember a saying that Dr. Bob Jones Sr. used to remind us of: "Truth plus error equals error" and applied to this incident a little sin (lie) is ok - so let junior think that and soon he to will be telling mom and dad a "little" lie mixed with a "little" truth. Perhaps when he is older he will ask the same question as did Pilot, "What is truth?"
This goes beyond sick, it only shows that the depravity of man can and will reach new levels. I think 2 Peter 3:9-10 is appropriate. "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and disolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed."
It sure would be great if this vast group of people who think they are "Christians" could get this excited over the Preaching, Teaching and Hearing of God's Holy Word!
I ask this question - Where are the Christians? We seem to be few for there is apparently none in the Colorado State Senate since no opposition is evident.
I am thankful for the increase of SBC seminary graduates who are embracing sound Biblical theology - may this increase continue to the glory of God!
Concerning the lower numbers of church attendees and baptisims - I would rather have quality (real conversions) than quantity (based on the hype of the moment) - Sound Biblical teaching and preaching - Active discipleship program - Baptisims that are for real and not manipulated by entertaining and emotional means. To God alone be the Glory!!
At first I thought the article was a joke but soon realized as I finished it that is wasn't. Tears welled up in my eyes and then a song started to be played that reminded me of just Who is in charge "He is Lord, He is Lord, every kness shall bow and tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord" - This includes the leadership of California - The only question remaining is; Where are the Christians in the State of California?
