"Catholic writer Robert W. Aufill has this to say about Hunt: "Strangely, Hunt¦ does not realize that his own emphasis on 'deciding for Christ' inescapably implies the possibility of co-operating with the grace of justification -- a possibility the Reformers constantly condemned but upon which the Catholic Church insists."
Whilst Dave Hunt wrote much that was very good, it always saddened me that a man with such a 'Berean Call' and the middle names 'Charles Haddon' decided late in his life to make such a poor contribution to the defence of the faith by misrepresenting C H Spurgeon.
"errs through appalling ignorance"
QUOTATIONS OF CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON USED IN THE BOOK "WHAT LOVE IS THIS? CALVINISM’S MISREPRESENTATIONS OF GOD" BY DAVE HUNT EXAMINED AND ANSWERED BY COLIN MAXWELL here
'On page 19 of your book, Dave, you make the assertion that Charles Spurgeon “unequivocally” denied particular redemption (limited atonement). Every single Calvinist who has done any meaningful reading in Spurgeon will be forced to immediately dismiss you as a very poor researcher on the basis of this statement' Blinded By Tradition: An Open Letter to Dave Hunt here
