Truth Upheld In Dark Days
Allan Jellett

“ Please! Uphold His Truth at all costs! ”
Pastor, Do not desire the worldly trappings - the big building and the big congregation! Stay true to the Gospel - and uphold every point - do not look to the right or to the left, but keep your eyes straight on. We've seen it happen, even in sovereign grace gatherings. The big brick building is built, the brass chandeliers are installed, the enormous paved parking lot is laid. The group grows and more folks come from here and there. Next thing you know - we've seen it happen - little diversions take hold. One of the first is the denial of the literal 6 days of creation. It starts like this: The pastor says, "Is God's Genesis account a literal 6 days, literally six 24-hour days? I don't know. It could be metaphorical. It doesn't really matter..." Next thing your know, the preaching really takes off in compromising other "hard things" and the focus is "how to know whether or not you're really saved". The preaching caters to assuring worldings that they really HAVE called upon the Name of the LORD. Then, it all goes to pot at a very rapid rate. Stay small. Stay true. Stay focused. Stay near the cross. God's Truth is known by revelation, not by reasoning. We are praying for you all.

“ Eternity! ”
Oh, what a Word! Thank you, Allen, so much. I often think about the terrors of hell - eternal burning, complete isolation from God, hopeless darkness and confusion forever - and then, I try to fathom that my Saviour ENDURED all that...for me! Who is sufficient for these things? Praise His Name forever more!

“ I apologize... ”
I'm sorry to send a second message, but I just had to listen to this message twice and it has absolutely ravished my heart! So needful, we must unearth the Scripture in our day from the trash heap of false religion. Oh, may our wonderful LORD bring a great revival of the preaching and the hearing of His Holy Word!

“ This message is absolutely fundamental! ”
I have been praying about this very thing and your sermon has been an evident token to my heart. The LORD Jesus IS The Word of God! Oh, may the LORD open His Word to us in the terrifying spiritual declension of the day. You began with the Word concerning Pharaoh - and this gives me peace: even all evil arising with power IS for the purpose of showing the LORD's great glory and Godhead. Bottom line: Every true believer WANTS to know, "thus saith the LORD"! Thank you and God bless you in Florida this weekend. We are praying for you and all His people.

“ A Watershed Message! ”
All religion flows to heaven or to hell at the watershed of this Gospel truth, "But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved even as they". This is an evident token to me of many temptations now pestering me in my life of faith. Begone unbelief! Thank you so much, LORD, for this message.

“ This brought me to tears. ”
I first heard this incredible sermon in the 90's, on a cassette tape sent to me from a friend. I was a new creature then, and this incredible Word from my God enlivened me back then, I recall, and brought tears to my eyes. Now, after all these years, I am new in Christ still, yes, still "being renewed" and I hear again those fundamental things that make my heart sing, "Glory! Glory to the Lamb that was slain!" Soon, I will meet Him and I will meet the man who was used by my God to deliver this message to my heart. Praise God for the Gospel and the blood and the renewed spirit and for eternal life. Praises to our God and King! Consider, O my soul, the miracle of the preaching of the Word of God. All other communications pale and dissolve away compared to this.

“ Pastor, Thank you. ”
This sermon message has encouraged me so much. Oh, I need encouragement, yes, but I need to encourage you, too. Pastor and all true believers there in Nowra, "Be encouraged and be bold to stand and to tell of the glories of your great God and King, our LORD Jesus Christ." It's shocking to regard the lies all around us, but when you are persecuted - when I am persecuted - we flee and we find that hiding place, which is Christ. And He said, "Great is your reward!" Someday soon, we will meet each other and our God and we will all rejoice together. Pastor Angus and all there in Nowra, God bless you. I am praying for you. I will follow along in the preaching of His Word with eager anticipation, by grace!

“ Praise our LORD and Saviour! ”
How wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to finally have the sermons of God's servant, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, unearthed for all the world to hear! I was a young child in a very confused family when this sermon was preached. And yet, the LORD, in His eternal, unchanging lovingkindness to me, knew and even had ordained that this sermon would feed and encourage me in time, many years later. O sinners, HEAR HIM! Hear ye this Man. Hear Jesus of Nazareth, the only God and Saviour! NOTHING has changed in this more "modern" day. Everthing this preacher says rings true today. And Christ is still the same! Christ still is the only One Who has the words of everlasting life. HEAR HIM. O sinner, HEAR!

When He Was Dying
Don Fortner

“ Newton wrote of this... ”
Newton's Olney Hymnal of 1779, Hymn 72 Book II: "In vain, my fancy tries to paint the moment after death; the glories that surround the saint, when yielding up its breath. One gentle sigh their fetters breaks, we scarce can say, 'They're gone!', before the willing spirit takes her mansion near the throne. Faith strives, but all its efforts fail, to trace her in her flight; no eye can pierce within the veil which hides that world of light. This much (and this is all) we know, they are completely blest; have done with sin and care and woe, and with their Saviour rest. On harps of gold, they praise His Name, His Face they always view; then let us followers be of them, that we may praise Him, too. Their faith and patience, love and zeal, should make their memory dear; and LORD, do Thou the prayers fulfil they offered for us here. While they have gained, we losers are. We miss them day by day. But Thou canst every breach repair and wipe our tears away. We pray, as in Elisha's case, when great Elijah went - may double portions of Thy grace, to us who stay, be sent."

What Is The Gospel?

“ Thank you, Pastor. ”
I sincerely hope that every soul who heard the sermon, "What Is The Gospel?", preached by that OTHER man you mentioned, would hear THIS message, and be granted grace to believe. Your true and faithful rendition of this most important subject reminded me of something - I made a concrete sidewalk here in our yard near the street curb. I wrote "JESUS SAVES" in the wet concrete. Although thousands have passed by that chuck of concrete since I wrote those words, only a handful of folks have asked me, "Why did you write that?" Yes, I have had opportunities to tell the Gospel, but it occurred to me that there's one important word missing - the word, "SINNERS". The sidewalk inscription should read: "JESUS SAVES SINNERS". I plan to add one more concrete section and write that word. Thank you, Allan, for telling the truth that all sinners MUST and WILL hear!

Fulfilling Your Ministry
Todd Nibert

“ Pastor, Thank you. ”
This incredible message was written directly to me, and for me. I'm so thankful to the LORD for what He has said to my heart through you. When you spoke about the "new laws written in the redeemed soul's heart", I was astonished and humbled. I knew each passage you mentioned, but was so deeply edified that you had bundled them all together as laws we MUST obey, because we have the Spirit of Christ. I believe a special hymn MUST be written concerning this teaching. I feel like Jonathan must have felt, who having tasted the honey, was enlightened to go on with renewed energy in his body and soul. God bless your ministry, Pastor Nibert, and may God fulfill the ministry He has ordained that each of us MUST fulfill. I love this idea and am completely transfixed by the thought of it! Sing my soul the glory of thy Redeemer!

“ What a Great God! ”
Here is the Gospel message, so beautifully outlined for us. I will listen again and again to this sermon, Pastor Fortner. I so much appreciate the care you have taken to lay out each essential point with such love and care. We are here in time, sending and receiving the timeless message. May He continue, after we are gathered in, to use the blessings He has bestowed on us to send forth His promises to future generations. This certainly is a prayer that was answered before time!

Strive To Enter In
Allan Jellett

“ Wonderful sermon! ”
Pastor, You mentioned Gilbert and Sullivan's "Trial By Jury" in this message, and my thoughts were kindled to recall my high school years, when I played a part in a theatre production of this play. "Edwin sued by Angelina shortly will appear!" It's true that there was a time when the betrothal vow was considered to be a promise as firm as the marriage vow itself. Though society continues to degrade more and more until the end of time, yet our LORD Jesus Christ remains Faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. Praise God, our Saviour is NO EDWIN! And we, His betrothed, can rest and wait, striving (as you have said) to enter in, finally to sit and dine with our Great Husband and LORD at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. God bless you as you continue to seek Him for a Word to us each day. Thank you for this message.

“ Thank you so much, Pastor Nibert ”
This message thrilled my heart. All through it, as you moved from point to point, my heart kept saying, "Truth LORD, and Thou has also said, 'My burden is light'..." Lo and behold, this is how the LORD ended this wonderful sermon. Praise His Holy Name and God bless you in your every prayer and desire before God the Father and His Son, the LORD JESUS Christ. Pastor, He is feeding us by answering your prayers to serve Him in purity and in the honesty of a true heart. May He continue to speak to us through you.

The Five Stones Of David

“ Our God is so great! ”
Pastor Todd, Thanks so much for this message. Love thinking about the "five smooth stones of salvation". David won the victory over Goliath with the force of one single stone, the first one he pulled up out of his sling stash. And Christ is that Stone, the first fruits among many brethren, Who by Himself paid the sin debt for the elect with His Own blood. Ah! The single blow of that smooth Stone is the cross! Praise our great LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Please LORD, bring a great revival of the preaching and the hearing of Thy great Gospel.

Sermon:
Three Gospel Ordinances
Don Fortner

“ Correction, Brother Don ”
At 4:46 into you sermon, you told a story about Charles Spurgeon. You said that Spurgeon was asked, "To what do you contribute the great success of your ministry?" Now to quote you, "...that man who was in his day so greatly used by God - and without a moment's hesitation, this was his answer: 'The men in our congregation pray for me.'" Now, at once, I wondered, "Did Spurgeon really say that?" Having some familiarity with the writings and sermons of Spurgeon, I thought that he would never say that men, exclusively, pray for me, but rather, he would probably say, "The saints of God pray for me." And so, I looked it up and found this reference to the incidence you mentioned, on page 137 of a book by Eric W. Hayden entitled, Searchlight on Spurgeon, Pasadena Pilgrim Publications, 1973, "In a very humble reply to one who asked him of his great success, Spurgeon replied, 'My people pray for me.'" At last, the LORD is the One to be thanked for any man's "great success" in HIS ministry. I'm sure both you and Charles Spurgeon would agree.
