Dopey,
What I thought was that I confused these people and there might have been a better way. The other thing that happened was there was a little boy and he was very defiant to his mother. He was demanding money and shaking a candy machine. I tried to start a conversation with him but it was going no where, so I sharply rebuked him for disobeying his mother who knew better than he did that one more piece of candy would make him wilder then he already was. I went out in my car to read. I came back inside and he said; Not you again and I said: Yes, I came to make sure you were obeying your mother. His countenance changed and he started to tell me about his family. I asked him to help me fold a flat sheet and he looked frightened and sat the rest of the time with his mother like an obedient child. I drove home talking to the Lord trying to figure it all out.

Street reader preacher;
I don't agree exactly with what your saying and here is why; It brings too much confusion into the picture.
I'll use myself for an example of what I mean. I'm at MVD with my KJV and I'm reading to myself a little out loud. Now if I had someone close listening with interest I might acknowledge them and start a discussion.
There was only one time I did otherwise and it was at the laundry mat. I was intimidated by a very loud and aggressive couple. The man was hurting the woman, but she was not handling it right. I gave them both a look, it did nothing. I started to sing the Psalm 37. There was also a young man, who was laughing at their antics. When I sang softly, the couple sat down and were quiet until I finished my laundry and then when I was walking out the door the other young man looked at me fearfully. The other man, from the couple looked at me as if to say if you stay any longer I can come up with challenge #2. I didn't stay.

Street preacher/reader,
The reading of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures is part of the worship of God and is done prior to preaching. They didn't get very far was reading then their only intent? I would have to re-read the article to answer that question myself now that you make that point.

Read from the KING JAMES BIBLE Isaiah 58 You and your brother might find it helpful.
It seems to me from what I recall in my reading, true street, field or other venues of public preaching usually takes place; when for conviction of the truth, men who are faithful to it and are persecuted for it, are driven out of their church buildings; then they will preach to willing hearers where ever they are able to.
These willing hearers are in the world every day but not of it. In other times, when the love of many was not so cold, others could see the love they had one for another; then they would inquire after this Way of Scriptural love. It is very inviting. Then, willing hears come with their friends to the gospel preached by their brethren who are gifted/ordained ministers and God provides the blessing to the means.
I don't believe the Youtube video was quite that picture.
