I thought we, as Christians anyway, were suppose to defend Israel. I'm confused somewhere, I guess. I assumed that since they are God's chosen people that we are suppose to be their friends, defend them, etc. I always thought the US was blessed in part due to our befriending and protecting Israel.
I think the problem is that you think that the Israel that God is keeping an eye on is a physical nation. Rather, it is a spiritual Israel, comprised of Jews and Gentiles who are trusting in Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior, and king and not in Islam, Judaism, etc. Those citizens of Israel who have yet to believe on Jesus and who he is are no different than his Arab "enemy"

Really? Who dreams up this stuff? Next thing you know they'll have the President in the Garden of Eden tempting Eve and not Satan!

Of course I will consider it providential as well. The fact that I was able to get up this morning was also providential.

No more than you'd think that the world has come to an end because of the past 4 years of Obama. You would if you believe all that has been posted here about him.

I've yet to hear anyone say that we ought to pray for the president, as we are commanded in scripture to do.

We need to be careful that we not compromise the gospel in our attempts to convert a fallen world into the kingdom of God on earth.

If you believe that God is judging America for the sins of Obama, what could he possibly have in store for a nation that "calls" itself Christian, but elects to the highest office of the land a man cursed of God. As a mormom, that's how the bible describes him and not me.

It's all mute, because I believe that Obama will be providentially re-elected.

The decline of "christian" America will continue. You can't legistatively change the hearts of men. Trust in God and not in man, and you will be alright.

Me. I'll be voting for the Mormon. He compromises the word of God and who Jesus Christ is, but that's okay! God will bless the election of such a Christian as Romney!

In all seriousness, so called evangelicals have comprised the Word of God and while challenging the faith of Obama (they should), they have completed ignored Romney's faith or lack thereoff.

Jim, good points. I agree that is all in God's hand at the end. The bible supports that view. God, himself, raised up many wicked men to lead his people (the kings)and many others to serve as his instrument to punish them for their wicked doings. Both Obama and Romney praise God with their lips. Romney is no different from Obama when it comes to abortion. Where is the candidate who will speak the full truth about abortion (Romney and many other so-called evangelicals are okay with it in the case of rape or incest). Hello! A life is a life no matter how horrible the circumstances that it came to be!

God is in full control of the election and its results. Good thing that both of our choices (professing believer Obama and apostate Mormon Romney) are equally opposed to the word of God. Serves as a stark reminder that this earth and political system are not our hope.
