John UK wrote: When you consider the unbelief of Drs Westcott and Hort in evangelical doctrine and especially the first three chapters of Genesis, and then consider that these men alone produced a new Greek text which was subtly introduced to the translation of the Revised Version New Testament in 1881, and then consider that around that time Darwin's theory of evolution was wreaking havoc within Christendom, as also was liberal thinking and interpreting the Bible miracles as "natural occurrences", you begin to build up a picture of a continual onslaught against the Bible, that faith might be caused to doubt, and Christian distinctives blurred. Why else would Satan introduce all these strategies if he only had to leave people alone in their heart unbelief. Besides, "faith" is a "persuasion", as the Greek shows. I thank God that the King James Bible is still being printed and believed. Amen! Well said, brother. |

Christopher, I understand exactly what you're saying, especially with children of my own. I live in a 200 person town and there are no REAL churches. We attend the local Nazarene church because the only other churches in the area are catholic, the apostate Evangelical Lutherans, and the soon to be apostate united Methodists. At thiis church we attend, sin is rarely mentioned (except in generalities, "we are all sinners"), separation is NEVER mentioned and the catchphrase of the church in the last year has been "There's no condemnation here!" That quote was even touched on during a prayer during an Awana program where some of the parents of the children who attended are ATHEISTS! Nothing about what is going on on in the real world is ever preached on, so things like sodomite marriage, etc. are never touched. The only sermons seem to be about Gods love and grace.its like this church (and many others, I assume) are NOT reading the same word of God as I am. They cut out what they don't like, so that they don't offend people. What they are not doing is teaching the whole councel of Gods word to the next generation and it is showing. I give my children "the rest of the story" as far as my church goes and it is very frustrating. If there are thousands of churches preaching this |
