Jesus used a whip of some sort. Nettles or not, he sure drove out the thieves. Perhaps these priests are on point more than most Western Christians. Georgian Evangelicals and Muslims should have accompanied this march efforts.
Rufus wrote: At first consideration, I thought maybe this was an article about Atlanta rather than Tbilisi. When the article started out with "Thousands of anti-gay protesters..." I should have known this was nowhere in America. If the choice is between folks threatening to lash with stinging nettle or folks not doing a thing, I'm hard pressed to say which I would prefer. I would prefer though, the next time there is a sodomite pride parade in an American city 1/2 of 1% of the professed Christians in that city go lift a banner for the Lord and preach against it.
The once stalwart Church of England, The Episcopal Church, The Church of Scotland, The Presbyterian Church, The Methodist Church and The Lutheran Church have all fallen on the sword of egalitarianism, abortion, feminism, women's ordination and, now, openly gay clergy. Two generations ago, these denominations, consisting of hundreds of millions of souls, contained some of the finest pastors, preachers and theologians. Today, these once completely orthodox brands are so devastated that even the remnant shudders at the thought of having to carry on with these labels (OPC, PCA, LCMS) lest these contagions also come to roost on their roof. Though many of the remnant now seek shelter in the broadly baptist megachuch (Swindoll, Piper, MacArthur, Driscoll, Stanley, Osteen, Warren), what bulwark holds back the deluge which is surely to let loose there too?
