If a guy is about to rob me and runs because he hears a siren coming, I will thank the the Lord for external pressure and law, prohibitions, fines, and imprisonment that saved me from the evil deed. A state is on the verge on being abortion free and there is nothing to thank God for in that? Gotta be better news than a state now has the most abortion clinics per capita. Unless I am missing the verse that says the multitudes are going to be on the narrow way to life, I would rejoice when evil is stayed or diminished regardless of whether or not it was done for the correct motives.
