Thank you Thanks guys for commenting on this article that i couldn't believe i was reading a few days ago. All of my fears came true when I saw some of the comments. I've seen local baptist churches teach this non sense and I thought they were isolated but it is now apparent that this stuff is coming from those they look up to. This is scary stuff and I'm even more scared every time I speak to someone about Christ and all they can talk about is some prayer they prayed. I put together this site to try to help others learn about this issue and this commentary will go there as well - www.donotask.org.
Thank You Pastor Thank you Pastor for such a timely message. What the world sees as success has taken over our churches and many pastors have either suffered mightily because they remain true to scripture or compromised to please the masses. May your message serve as encouragement to so many.
Great Points in this Message There are three sacred cows in the Southern Baptist Church: Youth Ministry, Children's Ministry and Sunday School and don't mess with them if you don't want trouble.
This Brother said it correctly. As a lifelong Southern Baptist, I have seen this first hand. I applaud Chad for speaking boldly about this issue.
"3 out of 4 kids when they go to college will leave the church and never come back."
The question remains. Why have we embraced this so much versus expository preaching of the truths of scripture?
It is positive that we are having these discussions. Thank you Chad for helping with that.
Jim, I have to respectfully disagree with you. The only reason this is being done is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Giving the vests away are just the means in how that is being done. I'm sure you understand that rarely will you get the entire story in the media. Although if you read this entire story it discusses the presentation of the Gospel.
These vests are either hand delivered by members of Ten-Four Ministries who present the Gospel to the officer receiving it or they are mailed along with Gospel Tracts.
