Mike wrote: The verse has nothing to do with baptism of babies, and everything to do with the simple faith/trust of children Re Matt 19:14 Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.Mike I guess the quote "simple faith/trust of children" is banned in the Baptist church since you apparently don't recognise it as reason to baptise the child. Jesus recorded as the Word of God "Suffer little children" "forbid them not" "come unto me" "of such is the Kingdom of God" Christ Jesus words "Suffer" or yield up specifically "little children." Jesus the Son of God clearly receives little children no qualification or confession required by the infant to come to the Lord. Baptist - No way Jesus we don't accept this command of yours. Children don't prove to us that they are good enough to be accepted - even if YOU say so. Christ Jesus "forbid them not" Baptist - NO! Even if you do emphasise it in this verse we refuse to obey. We Baptists remain adamant that we will not allow a child of ours to be brought into the church. Christ Jesus - "of such is the Kingdom of God" Baptist - Well you might think so but we require human verbal proof before we obey your command. |

Mike wrote: It's not about your needs. Here's your statement of fact: "America and the professing Christians are entertained to death. Go into any local congregation and most talk about movies..duck dynasty...sports..ad nauseum. Start to talk about the Lord and it gets real quite..:-(" If you have not experienced this "fact," it is not a fact you are stating, but opinion/hearsay. If you have experienced it, it still doesn't qualify you to apply it to "any local congregation." Doing so does rightly fit the description of "sanctimonious" Since you need "specific clarification" go into any local congregation in my hometown...which I have personally experienced etc. Is that better Mr.self proclaimed moderator of the board? |
