'Rather than continue with the Geneva Bible, he chose to produce his own "authorized" version to justify his personal belief.'
Tis a bit simplistic that is Doug- authorising a Bible that God chooses to bless for 4 centuries? There is far more to consider if you read the history of that translation- a bad bible for 400 years yet still a blessing to so many-was Spurgeon a simpleton choosing a mad King's personal bible and rejecting the Geneva bible? I trow not. No new version has yet been accompanied by any remarkable revival-new versions have not come out of any time of significant blessing. When you prove God has abandoned that so called authorised version I will take note.
I am sad that some who attack the King James Version and not just the position of those KJO's who James White has concentrated on seem to enjoy study bibles and red letter additions etc. and no qualms about adding man's interpretations to the bible they often carry to the pulpit. Again I would simply say that the Trnitarian Bible Society in the UK is Reformed in doctrine and supported by thousands of sound calvinistic brethren in the UK.
