Knowing,[brethren] "saved" beloved [election] "Jews" of God. Saved Jews who came to the knowledge of the truth there with saved Gentiles.

But ye are a [chosen] "Jews" generation, [ a holy nation] "Isreal" that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into marvelous light. "Saved Jews"

Rev 17:14
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Now this is not for the Jews this would be . The angels which did not follow Satan in his rebellion (Rev. Rev. 12:4+) are also said to be ā€œchosenā€: ā€œThe elect angelsā€ is ??? ???????? ??????? [t?n eklekt?n angel?n] . But being called speaks of a time prior to having come to the faithā€”something the elect angels do not experience for they have never been lost, but remained continually faithful.

CAB: Wrote:

God never meant for us to worship the Jews.
I don't believe that's what we're talking about.

It's about Scripture being use incorrectly by famous theologians and presenting the correct interpretations of they certain words used and who they are really talking about.

I am no friend of Calvin, but also I do not deny doctrines that he got right. You have a problem with that?

You sure about that? Why don't you study the scriptures a little better instead of taking what someone tells you.

What do you think the Jews are chosen FOR?

I'm not trying prove anything I'm simply stating a fact and I haven't been presented with any proof from anyone else.
It seems your kinda aggravated. Why? Because you believe in Calvin's theology. Sorry.

Yes I do agree it was brave to challenge the RCC in that time and no The Lord didn't say blessed are the meek Jews, what I'm saying is in Calvin's Theology about the elect and predestine ones that he tried to pull from scripture and make his own theology instead of biblical theology. The whole Hods gonna pick who's gonna go up and who's gonna go down. I'm simply implying that the verses he tried to use for his theology is speaking of the Jews not the elect or predestined to go to heaven

UPS 1 Thessalonians 1:9 is simply a greeting in a letter to the Thessalonians which consist of Jew and Gentile believers. And no word we see the words chosen elect predestined that would indicate they were speaking to a direct group

I'm sorry lurker, penned, prove it and some other calvinist and by the way nobody cares about arminianism but it's obvious that John Calvin theology is warped. The Bible is clear as day that Israel and the Jews are God's chosen people. I'm not saying that all Jews are saved they still must be born again.
According to Calvins warp theology God chooses who will be saved and who will be damned. God doesn't pick someone to go to hell, they choose to go to hell by rejecting the gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

John Uk Wote:
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 KJV
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Brother that's a reference to the Jews, reason why is Paul mentions God hath chosen you from the beginning. Like I said the Promise has always been for the Jew first then the Gentile.

New Testament is more Jewish center and most of us imagine.
The epistles of Paul ,James,Peter, and John are written to Jewish first then the Gentile.
God's plans center around Israel we Gentile believers have been grafted in.
No one is predestined to salvation or damnation everyone must choose!
Osas!

N/T elect /chosen never refers to being predestined to salvation, usually refering to Isreal.
1&2 peter the mention of the elect was to the Jews
I'm romans the elect were the Jews.
Election has nothing to do with salvation or damnation.
It is simply God or man making a choice.
New Testament reference of the elect are never speaking of eternal destiny but of God having chosen someone for a particular purpose and in most cases the elect or the Jews.
Therefore Calvin of the election by which God has predestined son to salvation and others to destruction is completely lacking in the scripture!

LURKER WROTE:
Believe what you will. I'll believe God.

I'm sure you do but it doesn't change that facts that the elect and chosen people or the predestined are isreal and the Jews and have always have been Gods chosen. It has always been the Jew first then the gentile. As Calvin would have some to believe that the elect and chosen ones in scripture are the saved christians and that's not so it's the Jews who are the chosen and elect people.

Lurker wrote
Free will theism is the only theology which must, of necessity, lead to this erroneous conclusion.

1Pe 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

"Chosen" in this text is the same Greek word (eklektos) translated "elect".

Who is Peter writing to? "Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God".... Gentile Christians.

Free will theism is poison.

No Lurker, in that text the word chosen is speaking to the Jews my friend. Sorry

Ah... Finally the truth comes out! Thank you sir, I hope for speaking the truth about the elect. This is a word loved by most calvinist but the truth is when they try to use scripture to say that the a Saved are the elect or the argument about Predestination or even the chosen ones, it's only talking about the promise God was making to his chosen people (the Jews) not christians we are grafted in. I know this has got to shocker to some but it's the truth

Thank you for preaching this and for uploading it. This Scripture and its faithful exposition is so necessary for the encouragement of Christ's Church now. Followers of the Lord Jesus need the perspective offered here in order to persevere during the trials we face and may face in the future as we seek to be faithful to our Lord.
