Connor, you're still learning the folks here on SA. The magnifying glass beside ones name will show all the comments they ever made (this can only be seen on the website not the app). Reading through somes comments would help you understand more. I understand you're just trying to keep peace so I took nothing you said in a mean spirit. Have a good day.

Jim,ah but those homeschool comments are what started this. They just got buried under the mud.

Observer, I probably shouldn't have been so quick to jump on the "I'm leaving" bandwagon. I definitely need a break. I'd hate to see you go! Your comments are much appreciated!

Andrea,
You are the on always shaming sister and brothers from other countries. Apparently we should aim to be Greece. I don't deny America is a wreck. Nor am I foolish enough to believe Greece is all that great. Pride comes in many forms such as in ones nationality.

Brother Dave, I patiently waited a response from you as I knew it was coming. I do think your judgement is biased. Nobody was rude to Andrea.

Mike, apologies as my previous comment was poorly constructed. I was pressed on time. Hypothetical situation, if you had to register your child with the state as a homeschooler would you?

Andrea,
There was no anger on my part. You read that into it. If you would like to continue to argue that we should send our unconverted children to Caesar to be educated as a Roman and expect them to in turn not be converted but to do the converting, then provide Scripture. Otherwise that's your opinion and the bible trumps it. Scripture makes it clear that education lies in the hands of parents not the state, not aunt so and so, or the sweet lady down the street but PARENTS. Education is not neutral. It isn't Billy Bob will go learn secular this and spiritual that. Regardless, of what you think Billy Bob is learning secular in light of spiritual. Worldview effects what you teach and how you teach it. Creation vs evolution. Did you know Helen of Troy lived at the same time as Ruth in the Old Testament. And you expect a non christian to teach my child that? And again, you can't send an unconverted person into to the world to convert a person. Nor will I turn my precious childs mind over to a stranger. The Lord gave then to me to mold not the ungodly state or unregenerate person....

I can't go back and edit. "Definition of a school" wasn't meant to be included.

TMC not TMZ. :/

Andrea wrote: "
The powers that be want an immoral, uneducated, segregated, apathetic America with food stamps instead of jobs"
So you propose to fix this issue we should fight for more state schools that are controlled by the power to be? How about doing what's biblical and keeping kiddos home with mama. Nobody cares more about a child than his/her parents. There are exceptions of course.
.

"I cannot for the life of me understand how the U.S.A has become a nation where Christians don't care about state schools"

Chapter and verse to support state schools? I've got plenty to show that education is mama and daddys jobs, not the states.

"Schools build a community, and we are the salt and light in any community"
Flawed logic. According to you I'm not active in building a community because I don't go to school. Definition of school. Schools do not build a community anynore than a car builds a garage. People build a community and that happens outside of walls where you're grouped up with 50 other folks the same age. Unconverted children are NOT the salt and light of the world! You do not send uncoverted folks to convert uncoverted folks. The biblical phrase for that is the blind leading the blind. Instead disciples of Christ, genuine born again believers, go out and make di

Exactly Geoff it's not all about academics.

Mike, what do you recommend doing when it comes to tell the state that you decided to take full responsibility for the upbringing of your child, as is the law in some states. It's technically right there with the Dept. Of Education.

Thanks. Ill check out the sources y'all have listed. We've been trying to switch to a more natural lifestyle but the process has been long and slow. At times it's been overwhelming and discouraging.

And I must add that I'm not arguing for government assistance. A family that trusts in God for their family size and surrenders all (that includes the womb) will most likely struggle. Accordingto Scripture, if the family is working hard ad still are unable to make ends meet then it is the churches place to help (for believers). As far as non believers, there's nothing wrong with having compassion. As for lazy people who don't want to work well the Bible teaches if a man doesn't work he doesn't eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

Ah I see. So God doesn't know what He's doing when He gives poor people children. May I remind you that the Israelites were not living in ideal situations yet God multiplied them abundantly (Exodus 1 specifically vs 7 and 12 KJV). Honestly Strat, I have to many little ones running around to devote time to a debate. I leave with God is the Author of life and we, as a creation, have no authority/place to question.the Creator on why and when He creates life for certain people or in certain.situations.

Strat wrote: ..who "blesses" a rape victim with a child ? a one night stand ? a teenage mother ?...children from the lord in the context of christian marriage are a blessing while the others have a hard time of it.

Again, who is the Author of life? Though we may not understand it, it is God who created and placed the child in the womb in the above situations.

Strat, I have to ask you, who creates life? And you say "why not read the Bible", if you did this you would see who opens and closes the womb. Man does not nor can he create life/open and close the womb. Sure man have a part to play gut ultimately the Creator God is the one who blesses a couple with child. Truly children are a blessing/reward from the Lord Psalm 127:3
