Frank, I agree discussing feminism with the lost is useless in and of itself. There are more important matters like their salvation which is why I make sure to include Christ in my replies. They ,lost family, ask questions (and sometimes harrass us) as to why we do the things we do. Feminism has been brought up on numerous occassions.
Don't misunderstand me. I'm not justifying feminism. These are just things the lost have brought up in conversations and I can see where they are coming from. But I guess without Christ it's easy to live in fear. I like your example. I'll remember it next time one my lost family members and I discuss feminism.
Frank, I agree with your comment. However, I can understand why feminism is such a tempting thing for women. Who wants to be put in a position where they're forced to remain if the situation gets bad. An example would be Doug Phillips. Look at what he preached and the gross sin he committed. He taught, and he's right in this area, that women are to be keepers at home. He taught the be fruitful and multiply stuff. His wife is a stay at home mom with lots of kids. She has no way to support herself. Could she just up and leave? No. Given forgivness is a must but staying in such a scenario is not. So yea I see the temptation. Who wants to be forced to depend on such a man and remain in a marriage like that? Of course not all are that way. I'm sure she didn't think he was like that when they got married. And women are just as bad (it takes two to tango) but man are capable of supporting themselves.
I don't know much about this man and what he teaches but I can say this much it's very unfortunate that another high profile "christian" man has commited this sin. It does a great deal of harm to the body of Christ and brings a great deal of shame to His Name.
I have a child who has a lot of energy (and no junk food is not a big part of her diet). I know that if we were to put her into public school or take her to a doctor they would label her as "adhd" . And just for the head shakers, she recieves biblical discipline. My point is, is that yes my child has a lot of energy but she's only four. Energy is to be expected. Medicine is not neccessary. And what Penny wrote here speaks volume " they need to be outside, on a farm, doing work, enjoying nature. outside. this is how God made them. to eat real food. " Opening the doors and letting her run around outside or taking nature walks is a huge help in helping her get her energy out.
Driscoll is perverted. I feel bad for his wife and children. This is the example of a "godly man" he sets before them. Disgusting.
1517, a man should not act like a woman nor make his voice so soft that he sounds like one. At the same time, his speech is to be seasoned with grace. Driscoll's filth is not a good example. Think Paul, Jesus, Charles Spurgeon, Jason Cooley....all manly yet their speech is decent.
Lady Ozmliad, God provided y'all with a free science lesson. Sounds like a good day
Well church is the body of Christ and fellowship is for believers and their edification. Now evangelism, that's for the lost. Notice Scripture says GO not HAVE THEM COME. It's to take place somewhers other then the fellowship of the saints. Question, how did he share the gospel when he was riding a bull? Have you ever seen a bull ride? The rider is being thrown around. It appears this man just made God look "cool" and by doing so blasphemed His name. It's bread and circus.
Some odd years back when I was in he youth program the topic of tattoos came up. My youth minister said, "What do I think of tattoos?" And then he proceeded to lift his shirt and turn around to show a back full of "christian" tattoos. Very classy
Yep! Oh the damage that can be done through such a little screen. Irreversible damage. But of course there is nothing new under the sun and as Unprofitable Servant said it is just a tool. The heart is the issue. But it does seem some tools make it easier to do some things. Anyways the comments here were great.
