Dorcas, I did read it but I have this blessing called mommy brain. I'm slowly learning I'm not an elephant. Bummer. :/ Anyways, my thoughts are that we are to call sin, sin but am an agreement that we aren't to be contemptuous.....hopefully that clears things up? Or perhaps I've just muddied the water?
Ladybug, yes ma'am. I agree with you. Personally, I like the method Ray Comfort uses-walking the person through the 10 commandments. It led to me condemning myself. Humbling to see how dirty I really was (and still am....Praise the Lord for Philippians 1:6!)
Proverbs 23:27 "For a whore is a deep ditch: and a strange woman is a narrow pit. 28. She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increasth the transgressors among men."
1 Kings 3:16 "Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him "
Two thoughts; 1) Whore is a biblical word. Look the word up and see what God thinks of them. Perhaps though some would prefer the word harlot? 2)There's nothing wrong with calling sin, sin. A theif is a theif. A murderer is a murderer. A liar is a liar. And a whore is a whore. All have part in the lake of fire, Revelation 21:8
Anne, it's great to see you posting! All is well with baby. She's rolling like a tumbleweed!!! How is your son? I've pondered what I would do in her position as well. Praying for you and yours dear sister!
Ah yes to often thenliterature we are "suppose" to teach our children to love is disgusting...you know like "The Shades of 50 NO NO'S!" and "Heaven is for Real (though the story is not)"......:shakinghead:
Christopher, II'm familiar with that game of tug of war. I hollar jutstice and then plead for their salvation. Let's just say I'm more than thankful that judging (in this sense) is not my job but is instead the job of a Holy, Just God who knows all mens heart and will always do what is right.
William, I wonder what they make of John 8:44 "ye are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father ye will do"
