This story tells a lot about the sad state of Western Christianity.

What it really means that many of today's religious and political leaders are claiming to be Christians, yet they have nothing to do with Christ the King or with the authentic Reformed Christianity!

I really hope that they don't use the name of God in vain!

2Co 11:3 "But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ."

2Co 11:13-15 "13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds."

Christ is Lord, Caesar is not!

Amen/RR

This is where the rubber hit the roads.

No one talks clearly about it, yet it could be very well the main cause of our spiritual diseases!

Why we (Real Christians) need the IRS or the CPP or the Tax receipt to finance The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the relevant activities.

Isn't the typical proof of the current marriage between the State and the Church? 1Jn 2:15

Why we have to deal with Caesar and his earthly empire to finance The Real King and Lord, Jesus Christ and His Heavenly and Everlasting Kingdom?

It's about time to choose between Christ the King of kings or Caesar the the earthly Emperor of the earthly and soon to be vanished earthly empire ...

If you love Christ, His Kingdom and His Gospel, PAY FROM YOUR OWN POCKET and you'll be making treasures in heavens.
Mat 6:20

In Christ my Lord & Savior I hide,

Christians, especially those in Christian high schools need to take note of this because this could happen here in the US.

I am also reminded of the parable of the shrewd manager in Luke 16, where Jesus says:

"For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light."

We need to understand our rights and not fail to frame our apologetics within such a context.

When is our Freedom of Speech being violated? When is our Freedom of Religion, conscience being trampled upon? IMO, employing these in our apologia will strengthen our case.

We also need to very seriously pray for the school mentioned above.

‚ÄúSimon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.‚ÄĚ ~ Luke 22:31-32

I suspect that Bell has been influenced by the likes of Karl Barth and the Barthian Thomas Torrance.

Barth basically said so much for which the implication could not have been anything other than Universalism, but then in the end, I believe that he denied that he was a Universalist.

Is like someone comes up to you and says:

(1) All men are mortal.
(2) Socrates is a man.

So then you say "Ah. So Socrates is mortal" and the person say "Oh. I never said that."

You reply "But how can that be?" and the persons chuckles and says

"Ha Ha... Its a paradox. Isn't that beautiful?"

What happens to the following verses of the Scripture in our North American Christianity:

1Ti 2:1-3 ESV "1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, Intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior"

So political activism is composed first of all of:

1) supplications,
2) prayers,
3) Intercessions,
4) and thanksgivings

Our Sovereign God is capable of doing things for His own Glory and beyond our human capabilities.

Glory to be to God alone.

God bless you all/RR

A bunch of bigots, who hate people for who they are!
You don't get that you are doing the same thing. You call the christian group bigots because they disagree with something. Yet you disagree with the christians and show a hateful attitude.
In your other posts, you accuse people of Hating, for disagreeing with something and calling things wrong. By your very words you are Hating Christians, and cultural conservatives. You are like the person who makes the statement "No one has the right to say someone is wrong". But what happens when you find someone saying someone is wrong? What do you accuse them of? You accuse them of being wrong. And you don't even see the contradiction.
But don't worry, I promise that if you keep your philosophy, you will not have to be around any of us bible biggots much longer. In other words, you will not have to spend eternity with us.

Is it all about growth?

Could it be that the Passives ones might hide a deep pain and are in need to a special Help!

I wonder how he will figure out the fake ones?!

Isa 40:11 "He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young."

This is my Lord and my Shepherd (John 10)...

He is not like what Rick Warren is planning to do!

Thank God for this clear biblical fact.

The Bible said:

Mat 5:13 ESV "...,but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet."

This is where we at: saltiness that can't be restored!

To God alone be the Glory.

Attacking other religions is different from presenting the Gospel. Case in point, please see the authentic preaching of Paul among real idols worshipers. He started by almost complementing them! ...

Act 17:22-34 (ESV) "22 So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: "Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious.
23 For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, 'To the unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, 25 ..., 26 ..., 27 ..., 28 for "'In him we live and move and have our being'; ... 29, ..., 30 ... , but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead." 32 Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked. ..." 33 So Paul went out from their midst. 34 But some men joined him and believed,... and a woman ... and others ..."/God Bless/RR

This story, if true is a treason, tasteless, politically motivated and is not a "news worthy" ...

I know that SermonAudio.com is in the business of preaching and teaching the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ ...

(1Ti 2:1-2 ESV) 1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Understanding and Following the above verses would leave no other option for Christians other than to pray and uplift the President before the Throne of Grace ...

As well, we need to recognize that the earthly kings and Rulers are in the hand of God, who is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords ...

WE MUST LEARN HOW TO SUBJECT OURSELVES TO THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD ...

I've prayed for former president Bush and I am currently praying for President Obama ... this is what 1Ti 1:1-2 is all about ...

It's about time that Christians start to be faithfully following the steps of our Lord, and adhere to the real and authentic Gospel teaching ...

Dear God forgave us ... we need a New Reformation and a badly needed revival ...

I understand you being angry, it may be healthier if you directed it more accurately. I guess you could start by explaining to the thousands upon thousands of the families affected on nine11 how the ones who acted and supported the attack were peaceful people-Few wish for war Most of us want the abilty to defend against attacks (preferrably not where they live)

And we've been stuck and crippled the same way also, to take the analogy a bit further.
People who snort coke and have gay porn stars visiting the White House late at night on a regular basis and who visit places like Bohemian Grove, who flash the el diablo at the inauguration, as well as some other more commonly known crude hand signals are not typically considered Christian.
And Christians don't preside over mass murder conspiracies or lie nations into horrible wars so Israel can have an oil pipeline and Afghanistan will be forced to start up its opium trade again.
I could say more.
well please do tell us more of how not even trying to follow a christian life is a sign of healthy leadership-mass murder conspiracies? The Iraq war will go down in history as one of the most difficult decisions an American President had to make. The decision was unselfish, courageous, progressive in vision, and with continued support will ultimately help America and the world deal with rogue violent religious extremist

Obvious Truth, where is the truth to your comment about Bush and Cheney being involved with the blowing up of the traid centers. I find this very hard to accept. I have been keeping up with the news on the traid centers and this is the first I've read about President Bush and Vise-President Cheney having had any part in it. Where is the obvious truth to your statement.

To KK from USA. I think you said it all. I do not understand all this that is going on. I have been taught all my life to love my heighbor and not to judge. Have we not been judged, have we been sentenced to death? what have we done that has hurt the muslim people so bad. If they do not like it here in America and its so bad, Go Home ET Go home. I am going to continue loving my God and doing all I can to bring the lost to him. But I am afraid that the lost are the ones that are going to start knocking heads because they have not been taught brotherly love. It's hard, I mean its hard to turn the other cheek when they come in like rats crawling into Americe with one thing in mind. Kill Americans. I need pray's because I am starting to mislike all muslims and my Bible tells me I have to love them. All that read this please pray for RR in Ga.
I love americia and I love the one and only true GOD.
