“ Why I AM a Reformed Baptist ”
I can't speak for every Reformed Baptist. I can speak for myself and what I observe in other Reformed Baptist. We point EVERYONE to Christ and Christ Alone. We never point anyone to The London Baptist Confession We point everyone to Scripture. Galatians 1 is about a Gospel other than what Paul preached. Paul Preached about the Elect and about Predestination. In Romans 9, Paul knows many will reject what he is saying. We do not skip over the verses that are difficult to understand or accept. The Bible is full of the Sovereignty of God. The only reason Reformed Baptist are a new thing is because traditionally Reformed Churches are Pedo-Baptist. But we Believe in a Believers Baptism. We read the words of Paul and verses in the old testament (Ezekiel 36:26) and see a powerful God. Not a Weak God of man's design. We do not Judge God by a Standard of Man. We accept what God has spoken in his word, and try to understand it as best we can. There may be Reformed Baptist who are exactly as Jonathan Modene has portrayed them, but none that I know. We believe strongly telling the Lost about our Lord Jesus Christ. We love each other and Love the Lost and try to reach them with the Gospel. Credo Baptist yet Reformed in Soteriology. |
