John Yurich writes:

This is the real John Yurich. Why should those convicted of first degree murder be shown mercy? Did they show any mercy to their victims? No they did not.

If God had taken the same attitude towards us: not show mercy to us because we didn't show mercy to eachother! Just sayin!

Dear John Yurich,

You are not saved by praying a prayer, you are saved by the Lord working in your heart! Just because you "accepted the Lord" at an alter call doesn't mean you are truly saved. Words are one thing, but actions are entirely different. All regenerate and truly saved Christians will bear fruits by which you can discern them. So far I have not seen any good fruit on your tree. All I have seen is your defence of a man centered cult, your pride and arrogance, and your deciet towards others! I'm not trying to attack or hurt you, I'm trying to help you by pointing out these things. I pray to God you will see the error of your ways and turn to defending the God centered religion rather than man centered religion. I once did the same thing with Mormonism, but I figured out I was wrong, and I turned to the truth for my guidance! I hope you will do the same!

Yes, that was what I meant: what you said! I wasn't trying to say that doctrinal creeds don't have their place or purpose, just that sometimes we elevate them to highly and criticize people over their unimportant doctrinal differences rather than where they fall under God's word, like the belly buttoners vs the non-belly buttoners, or the pre-tribers vs the post tribers! That's what I was trying to say, sorry if it came out wrong!

John UK writes:

Yes Nat, I have considered it many times. The problem is that folks won't let you have a dynamic relationship with God, they want you to belong to a theological system and then rant against all others. It never occurs to them that God is more interested in how his elect people behave, than in what they claim is a correct interpretation. We are all going to appear at the Bema, the judgment seat of Christ, we should think much of what we do. Obedience is top of the list with the Lord - reference his dealings with OT saints along with almost continual chastisements.

Good post John UK! Let's all focus on our relationship with God, not so much our doctrinal creed!

John UK from Wales writes:

PursuitofTruth wrote: We're aren't enemies...

PoT, you are being too simplistic. One post from "servant from us", and you are agreeing with him without knowing who he is or what he stands for. He could be a Christadelphian for all you know.

Unity HAS to be around doctrine, not woolly lovey-dovey ecumenist style hugs and kisses.

There are plenty sneaking about these threads who are NOT born again.

The BIG questions, as always, is: "How can a man be right with God?"

This is what separates the wheat and the chaff.

In the quote you quoted, I was saying that we here on this forum are not enemies, but brothers in Christ! I wasn't saying that I fully agreed with Servant from US, I was saying that I agreed with that post in particular since he was uniting with me for a united church! I don't know who he is, or where he comes from, but as long as he truly loves and worships the ONE true God like you and I, then I don't think it's neccessary to squable over doctrinal statements! I don't even know if you and I fall under the same doctrinal creed for that matter! But we can both unite on the things that really matter, cause we both love and honor God!

servant from us writes:

I am of peter, i am of paul. please people! let us rely on the holy spirit to draw us closer to christ and the father, not the traditions of man

Yes, a very good post Servant from US! Let's stop with this division and naysaying, and let's unite on the things that are true, and that we can all agree on! No more of this badmouthing Calvanists, or bad mouthing Armenians! If somebody foolishly attacks us in this way, we can defend our beliefs, but let's not be the agressors! Let's be the ones who will come together in times of trouble or need, not tear eachother up! The Bible says to love even our enemies! We're aren't enemies, so how much more should we love eachother!

Thanks John UK! Dear Troll Spotter, I do not worship Calvin, I just believe that he had a mostly correct interpretation of Scripture. No man is perfect, and I do not bow down to any man, but rather to God! And btw, I do not consider people challenging eachothers views as tearing eachother apart! What I do consider tearing eachother apart, is when people say other people are heretics simply because they don't fall under the same creed. There are true heretics, but many of the people called heretics on this forum are not called that because they don't worship God, but because they don't worship that persons doctrinal creed! Let's all get beyond this silliness, and unite on what we can agree on! A divided church will not be able to make much lasting change in culture, because they are all to busy fighting over Calvanism verses Armenianism, or Presbyterian verses Baptist! I've been guilty of this in the past, but we cannot fall for this trap! Don't fight eachother over trivial matters! It's okay to disagree! Unite on what we can agree on! Sorry for making this post so long, but this is something I'm passionate about!

What doctrine do you fall under? I'm sure we can agree on a lot of things, even though we do not agree on Calvanism from what you have said. I'm sick and tired of Christians squabling with eachother over which doctrinal statements are wrong and which are right. Yes, we should decide that for ourselves, but there are people who are not content with just deciding that for themselves, but have to demeen and squable with anybody who doesn't fall under the same doctrinal statement! Hey, as long as your not worshiping man over God (like Catholics do) then I'm cool with that! Let's all try to find the things we can agree on, rather than tearing eachother apart over trivial matters!

Dear Biblical Calvanist,

Let's try to agree with eachother, rather than calling people who don't follow the same creed "heretics". Maybe you should read my former post. I'll repost it for you!

No, I'm not a Presbiterian. I'm a Calvanist! Not trying to argue with you, just wanted to clarify that point, so please don't view that as an attack against you, because it wasn't.

I belive our friend Biblical Calvanist is not trying to insist that there are Biblical and Unbiblical Calvanists, but rather, that Calvanism is Biblical. But just as I said earlier, there are unBiblical people in every denomination or doctrinal group, and that never decides whether a doctrinal creed is wrong, rather, the Bible decides whether that doctrinal creed is wrong.

Troll Spotter writes:

Your moniker suggests that there are unbiblical Calvinists. How can that be since you insist that they strictly adhere to the Scriptures?

Dear Troll Spotter,

Just as in every doctrinal group, there are some people who do not hold to scripture. There are Armenians who do nold to scripture, does that mean that Armenians as a whole are unbiblical? I personaly do not believe Armenians are fully doctrinaly correct being a Calvanist, and believing that sinful man alone cannot and will not choose the right path. Do I believe Armenians are going to hell because they're not 100% doctrinaly correct? Of course not! So you'r argument that if their are a few people who call themselves a certain doctrinal group that are not biblical, fires back on yourself, whatever doctrinal group you belong to!

P. S. There is scriptural citations for Calvanism, and I'm sure we can all give you some if you wan't. Not quite sure if you are arguing against Calvanism or just pointing out that we're not defending it well enough, but in either case, I'm sure many of us here will be more than happy to site the scriptures!
