Ezek 18:19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. 20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. 21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23 HAVE I ANY PLEASURE AT ALL THAT THE WICKED SHOULD DIE? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin ..."..cont

Most important purpose......
Matt 16:16 "And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU ART THE CHRIST, the SON of the LIVING GOD.
Matt 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and UPON THIS ROCK I will build MY CHURCH; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
* The "rock" Jesus announces is verse 16. (Not Peter as the Popish perversion insists, shifting it from Christ to man)
1Peter 4:16 "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1Pet 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
cbcpreacher, God also ordained and his Holy Spirit inspired the carpenters ability to build HIS Temple to divine specification.
Who built your church building?
As you are aware the "Ceremonial" type of worship is now changed and recorded as changed in the Scriptures.
The Word of God, the Bible, is brought to us by the Lord as it is. We must accept it as we have received it, as indeed it is recorded that no person can add to it.Deut 4.2, Rev 22.18.
I once too sang the hymns which appeared and were selected as being in correct doctrine. However I could not get away from the fact that Psalm's are ordained by God for His worship and praise. Nothing in Scripture nor any arguement I have heard can overrule that simple fact.
You will know yourself how dangerous hymns and music are, when influenced by human emotions both in writing and in singing them. Here is an area where sin can surely hold sway and sadly does in many congregations.
cbcpreacher "Preacher" is a God sent task and God may use them in any century or national circumstance as Scripture has so recorded. Just as HE may use evangelist, teacher etc, as instruments of His purpose.
"Praise writer" is not recorded as GIVEN in Scripture.
The simple fact that there is debate on this topic, illustrates the "two" versions of praise.
If you continue using man made Hymnal productions whilst correspondingly rejecting the Bible itself, since you cant sing both at once. You will in effect reject the Word of God, [You do believe that is what the Bible is dont you?] whilst using in praise the mantra of sinners.
"...friendship of the world is enmity with God.." James teaches at 4:4.
The Psalms come directly from God, or do you believe the inspiration was the Psalmist's own? The acknowledgement of this is it's inclusion in Holy Writ.
Whereas hymns come directly from man with no proven divine inspiration.
Which of these are raised to God - BY HIS OWN PERSONAL selection - to be ORDAINED as praise.
Where is it recorded in Scripture that God would require a change to the Psalms, in a more modern cultural tempo and lyrics?
Reject the words recorded by God if you will, in favour of mortal sinners works, because the Psalms do not come up to and achieve the new standard you require. But remember well that this is the witness statement of YOUR own heart.
Gal 5:18 But IF ye be led of the SPIRIT, ye are not under the law 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
1Cor 13:4 CHARITY suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to *LOVE HIS NEIGHBOUR AS HIMSELF,* is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
God doesn't need money! Tithing is about your heart! Tithing is a test of you!
As to "What your money is used for?"
When you have tithed it to God's purpose it no longer belongs to you. Or do you doubt whether God can direct it to the right place?
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth:
