John: i guess i came across wrong there, of course copying was necessary, God preserved his word for us down through the ages. I don't buy into any garbage about it being corrupted over time.

I have a problem however with making an idol of the KJV, it is not a perfect translation, I am willing to read from it. I'm not anti KJV, but I prefer to read from the NASB or ESV.

The original texts are of course perfect, but many treat the KJV as though it is the original, and all other translations are flawed.

There is a profound difference between "tinkering" with the bible and a translation born out of much research, study and prayerful considerations of the text. As for the paraphrase translations I want nothing to do with them. There are several excellent literal translations out there but none is perfect, including KJV.

No reverence at all for the word of God, it's not something to be tinkered with.
