I am speechless to finally hear a pastor to preach on this TRUTH!! I totally agree 100% with this passage, always have ever since my dad had me see phsycologists/phsychiatrists for being dumped by a long term boyfriend I had as a teenager and for rebellion. My dad didn't know how to deal with a teen daughter with raging hormones, so the answer was, she's not right. I was in family counseling for most of my teen years, due to my dad's ignorance on this topic. It put a damaging stigma on me growing up. This is what happens when you don't have God in your life! I was suffering from a broken heart, NOT a chemical imbalance!

Thank you for such an uplifting sermon. Something I needed to hear because I have been so hard on myself over sin, and I am so inclined to be timid towards my Heavenly Father because I get my eyes on self rather than on Christ, my Beloved Propitiation. Thank God for His finished work! When you feel helpless against sin, look unto Him and consider His works and it will encourage your heart to live for Him and not to sin against Him, but when you do, you have an advocate with the Father! AMEN!!

I'm surprised you have to ask, Abigail. Surely you don't believe that when we are saved, we become perfect and sinless? Why do you think the Bible teaches and refers to inner struggle and struggle with the world?
Paul teaches, in Romans 7...
18 "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."
= Can you see Paul's struggle with iniquity here.
And his anguished cry...
24 "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?"

Now, SEATON, you don't mean that the "IRRESISTIBLE GRACE" of TULIP has now become RESISTIBLE when it comes to engaging in sin, do you?I think the Holy Spirit will now say; THAT's totally unfair!
