Arrogance is not limited to Calvinists! In fact, the term 'arrogant Calvinist' should be a contradiction as Calvinists believe that, of themselves, they are nothing, Jesus Christ is the Author of their salvation. All I can say is - thank you, Lord Jesus, for choosing me when I was dead in trespasses and sins. Thank you that my salvation is secure, because it depends upon the sovereign, immutable will of God, and not on the changeable, sinful will of man. As your people are from every tribe and nation, help us all to be faithful witnesses of our dear Lord. May our lives show to those around us the love of God. To God be all the glory. Hallelujah!
RC Sproul, Ligonier ministries, is a fantastic Bible teacher on the doctrines of grace.
Chris, my husband was addicted to porn for years, from before we were married. He has now been free from porn for several years, thanks to a website called Setting Captives Free, and above all the grace of our precious Saviour. This website now changed to Gospel Growth Ministries, but it is mentored by people who have overcome addictions such as porn, eating disorders etc. There is also a website, Liberes en Christo, which is currently being translated into English to help people overcome addictions to porn through Bible study and godly mentoring. My husband and I are living proof that God can give the grace to your wife to forgive, and strength to you to overcome, and to restore your marriage. Truly, you don't have to live with it, you can overcome by the blood of the Lamb. My husband mentored many men and has seen many delivered from the grip of porn. Jesus cleanses from the guilt and the power of sin! There is a way out, it's the way of the Cross. Take it!

Gotta say Allie, I've thought the same thing myself. Hanging on the every word of any man is a dangerous exercise. The bible is my authority. I can glean and learn from a whole lot of different people but I'm always going to measure it up with what the bible says because all men (and women) are fallible.
Every single human being is capable of error and none of them is going to be my authority, save the Lord Jesus Christ. You've got to be so careful who you follow (and potentially start idolising), especially given the time we are living in and particularly someone like John MacArthur who is on the record as saying that you can take the mark of the beast and still be saved!
Of course they are going to lie about it. Anyone caught up in the wicked abortion racquet is a servant of satan who is a murderer and the father of lies.
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
Surrounded by 30 or so kids of the same age with one adult, 5 days a week for 6hrs a day does not equate to socialization.
There are always going to be strange families that exist whether they homeschool or not. The powers that be however are always going to look for reasons to hinder homeschooling because they don't like children being out of the system where they can be indoctrinated and moulded into the compliant little brainwashed, pagan loving robots which they seek to turn them into.
My experience with homeschooling is anything but unsocialized kids. In fact, the complete opposite. It's the kids that are homeschooled that generally don't view adults as the enemy and can confidently hold a conversation with one. On the contrary in my experience its the school kids (generally) who look at me like I have two heads if I try and strike up a conversation with them and sometimes I'm even hard pressed to get a response to my 'hello'.
The unsocialization argument levied against homeschoolers is a myth and if you homeschool you'll know that it's a deliberate lie to brand us as weirdos. Homeschooling is one of the greatest blessings the good Lord has given my family. Praise His mighty name!
Thank you Rev. Swanson,
Thank you so much for this message. You and your guest hit the nail on the head when you pointed out that the CT school massacre is a SIN problem. I also benefited from your link of this tragedy to abortion and violent media. Thank you for this thoughtful, Biblical response to the terrible tragedy in Newtown.

Yes, so talking a good game does not a conservative make.
"Spending during Reagan's two terms (FY 1981–88) averaged 22.4% GDP, well above the 20.6% GDP average from 1971 to 2009. In addition, the public debt rose from 26% GDP in 1980 to 41% GDP by 1988. In dollar terms, the public debt rose from $712 billion in 1980 to $2,052 billion in 1988, a roughly three-fold increase."
"During Reagan's presidency the annual deficits averaged 4.2% of GDP after inheriting an annual deficit of 2.7% of GDP in 1980 under president Carter."
And a plurality of Americans think the polls are biased? Probably just a couple of reformed baptist pastors - they are fixated on plurality.
Great Sermon! I was convicted by my own busyness and distraction in life. This is such a blind spot for so many who struggle to be still and know God. Thank you for speaking truth on this topic. Praise be to God!
Just what I needed! I have been so discouraged lately by what I see. Sometimes I am tempted to just bury my head in the sand, but that is not God's way. Thank you, Dr. White, for reminding me of that.
