Can you show me scripture where we get faith as a gift from God(in the KJB of course)?
Eph 2:8. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast

By the sound of it you may be one of these Arminian heretics so perhaps you will not perceive the truth.

If faith is not the gift of God then it is a work of man - this is the heretical salvation by works theory of the Roman Catholics, Arminians, Wesleyan .... et al.

WCF 14/1. The grace of faith, whereby the elect are enabled to believe to the saving of their souls,a is the work of the Spirit of Christ in their hearts,b and is ordinarily wrought by the ministry of the Word;c by which also, and by the administration of the sacraments and prayer, it is increased and strengthened.d

a. Heb 10:39. • b. Eph 1:17-19; 2:8; 2 Cor 4:13. • c. Rom 10:14, 17. • d. Luke 17:5; Acts 20:32; Rom 1:16-17; 4:11; 1 Pet 2:2.

If you really knew your beloved Calvin, you'd be more aware than I am that in his commentary he relates to a universal atonement, and proves that if a man is lost it is not to be attributed to God but to the man himself.
You are lying about Calvin and Spurgeon and you have lost the contest and resorted to lies to save face. Repent of your deceit John UK. Repent.

First, I am no fan of Augustine, the doctor of the Roman Catholic false religion
Thats it Michael prove yourself to be Arminian. You never really did leave the Roman Catholic religious philosophy of works based salvation, did you!

Remember also that C.H.Spurgeon is censured in the Heterodoxy Hall of Shame for having oh-so-arminian tendencies in his preaching, for attending a Catholic Church Service
Your hate-filled anti-calvinist stance proves your kinship to Jacob Arminius John. Now come clean at last and confess your true allegiance to Wesleyanism.

You two have the RCC/Arminian mark on your posts for years. Why not admit your guilt. You cannot receive the truth about God's sovereignty and faith the gift of God. If you really knew Calvin and Augustine you would know the Bible and its doctrine.

Even the truly and much beloved C.H. Spurgeon can make a mistake in his words.
It is the Lord Jesus Christ who Is the Gospel.
He who has the Son has life and he who does not have the Son does NOT have life.
It is NOT written, he who has Calvinism has life, is it.
You are avoiding the issue Michael.

Don't teach works based religious philosophy. Stick to a Sovereign God who doesn't need human help to save sinners.

Remember Michael
"The old truth that Calvin preached, that Augustine preached, that Paul preached, is the truth that I must preach to-day, or else be false to my conscience and my God. I cannot shape the truth; I know of no such thing as paring off the rough edges of a doctrine. John Knox's gospel is my gospel. That which thundered through Scotland must thunder through England again." (C. H. Spurgeon)

And thunder through America today.

Actually you might better say your theology is "Calvinistic"
as Biblically:

Romans 10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Michael
As Spurgeon said Calvinism IS the Godpel. That is true!

The ONLY people who can confess Jesus as Lord - ARE THE ELECT. Fact!

The sinner can ONLY make this confession WHEN the HOLY SPIRIT IS INDWELLING within HIM/HER. Fact!

Now you said that you had LEFT the RCC. Well if you really have left their works based theology stop trying to make human input a qualification for salvation.

1. I would like you to reconsider your theology just a bit.

2. fervent prayers

1. My theology is Biblical. I can't change it without transgressing against God.

2. Only the elect can pray. Only the elect will be heard by God in prayers.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication **IN THE SPIRIT**, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Mike wrote:
So what do you think, Phoebe? Is it that Pastor Mike cannot believe, or will not believe?
Those who are under the dominion of sin do not have the freedom or ability to believe in Christ. Free will is a complete fallacy. Free will in the human has never existed on earth.

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

"Quickened" here means made alive IN Christ.

The Pre-quickened state is "dead in sin."

God only quickens the elect. The elect are the Remnant predestinated to be chosen/elect by God. Those whom God foreknew He predestinated and He effectually calls unto salvation. (Rom 8:29,30)

When quickened ie born again the saved person believes on Christ unto salvation.

All those who do not believe - can not believe without divine help. These are the atheists, humanists, Liberals, secularists etc, ie Reprobates on their way to hell and damnation.

"pastor" Mike is like the Liberals in the churches - Religionists who make it up as they go along in the dominion of sin, blinded by Satan.
