Yes she does. Just look at the biblical values she has instilled in her children: http://www.sodahead.com/question/146055/

Hallelujah, Amen! Let's rig up them FEMA trailers and transport this "Christian" family to DC straightaway, ya hear?

Um...no. We are not ancient Hebrews living under the old covenant. The works meet for repentance (and we are not talking about the good works St. James is discussing in the passage you erroneously cited) would be to abase herself before God and man for her abominable deeds and conduct and lifestyle and for her mother to join her for her own failure to raise her daughter properly.

Let them throw themselves in the dust, let Sarah renounce her deal with the Devil and drop out of the race, let them weep tears of contrition. Let them forsake all of their sins, let Palin become a real mother of the home and stop relegated the nurturing role to daddy, let her be a submissive wife and cook for her husband, let Bristol turn her life around and give herself to Christ instead of having a politically expedient shotgun wedding. Let Bristol speak out to the public that this is the wrong way to live, and not tell other teenagers not to imitate her iniquitous ways. Let them stop blaming the media for doing its job of critical investigation and praise them for shaming them into repentance. Then we can talk about restoration, and not a moment before.

My question was, how do you know that her daughter has not repented. To repent is "to turn", to turn from your sin, and to look to Christ for foregiveness. She "is" now going to do the right thing.
There has been no repentance, contrition, penance, or any type of admonishing and discipline of Bristol or her negligent, liberal mother. You know this. I know this. Everyone knows this. Stop playing your petty political games because this is about eternal damnation and salvation not about whether your stupid, B.A. in sports reporting candidate gets in office or not. There has been nothing but commendation for Bristol's actions from evangelicals, from Palin, and from the whole right-wing including the religious poseurs on this board.

Palin came out pretending to be a great Christian mother who could balance family, career, and play like a superwoman Jane Quest. Now we know it was all a farce and a big lie, and she's been lying through her teeth about almost EVERYTHING thus far. She was too busy running moose country and playing with her .45 caliber at the shooting range to notice her daughter was running the streets getting drunk, banged up, and Lord knows what else at sixteen (perhaps earlier).

How dare that woman wash our Lord's feet with her hair? Should she not be repenting somewhere? What about the woman at the well? Shouldn't she be repenting at the temple rather than running around reflecting God's glory in service?
Were any of those women "devout Christian mothers?" Were any of these women saved? If not, then why would we hold them to the same standards as those who profess the Christian faith?

Perhaps it is YOU who needs to repent for bring railing accusation against a Christian brother to defend the disobedience and harlotry of the miniskirt wearing Palin and the promiscuity of her partygirl, irreligious, uneducated teenage daughter?

Rogerant, aren't we who claim to be 'Christian' held to a higher standard than lost sinners? When someone makes such a claim, shouldn't they make other Christians aware of their actions, and how they handled the situation? This woman's daughter was sexually immoral, and hopefully someone told her of her need to confess and repent. So are you against church discipline as well? Being in the public eye and claiming Christ does indeed make her accountable to all who profess Christ. That is exactly why sin is so rampant in America, we cover it up when it doesn't 'suit us'. Sarah sure didn't mind telling the public her daughter was pregnant {where's the shame??!!}, how much more noble would it of been to also mention confession and repentance? Without these two, there is NO salvation. Sadly, it looks as though some folks are right, Christians are convinced the Republicans are 'God's party'.
Excellent!

DJC49: That's some very shoddy liberal logic there. You might as well call the inspired Old Preacher a pro-choice, pro-murder advocate. Death is a bountiful boon for the saint and the innocent, and a terrible and terrific loss for the sinner and the worldly. "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is GAIN." Phil. 1:21

That sounds marvelous! No more pointless, antagonistic, foreign intervention in countries that don't concern us? Tending to our own glass house before preaching to others? A focus on the serious economic and social issues here at home? Wow! You sound like you work for the Obama campaign. Keep it up and I might have to put in a ballot myself for the first time in my life!

Btw, God does not believe in "democratically elected governments." He is a monarchist.

This is the most blasphemous statement yet uttered on these boards. She can't rule consistently with Scripture because Scripture condemns her "ruling" period, unless it ruling her unruly and wayward, promiscuous and partying teenage daughters and caring for her 4-month old baby. There is not a Christian alive that will ever "support her" nor "work with her" unless they are apostates serving a false Jesus and preaching a false gospel.

We do not agree with Palin's liberal feminist values nor her attempts to legislate morality nor her nepotism nor her numerous lies (claiming to have been against the Bridge to Nowhere, only to find she was all for it until Congress said they wouldn't pay for the whole project, her daughter had "mono," etc.). While you play political games, and degrade the godly women of the Bible by comparing them with this ambitious feminist we Christians know that God has no intention of reforming the pagan, Satanic governments of this world and that the kingdom of God is the only true solution to man's woes.

You are dead wrong in your false assertion that "most Black Churches" are of a B.L.T. philosophy! Have you been to "Most Black Churches" in America and across the globe?

There are literally thousands of Black Churches in this Country that are Evangelical, biblically based and biblically sound congregations! I think you need to do more research and I suggest that you spend time with Black people in their Churches before making such a short-sighted and ignorant statement!

Thank you Moonwalker for exposing the ignorant bigotry of Mr. Ford. I'm white but I have attended quite a few black churches myself (Baptist & Pentecostal) but I had missed the part where Mr. Ford claimed "most black churches" taught BLT until you pointed it out. The interesting thing about Black Liberation Theology though, is that there is a wide range of variation, from extremism to moderate liberalism just like the Protestant churches. During the Rev. Wright outburst I asked people to point specifically to where Rev. Wright ever made a racist statement. They couldn't. They kept running to the founder James Cone, as if he were representative of the whole movement. Like saying R.J. Rushdooney is representative of 30,000 different Protestant denominations.

Oh, ok. Next time I'll be sure to just mention the fact that this "Christian" "mother" has a pregnant seventeen year old high school dropout who got herself knocked up by a young man who describes himself as a "{expletive} REDNECK," who was "not interested in marriage or children" while the mom was out hunting moose, shooting wolves, riding snowmobiles, commanding the Alaska National Guard, or governing igloo country. I'll let the reader decide for themselves what name is most apropos for this "family" that has been thrust upon the public. Wait a second here...am I describing an ostensibly "Christian" household being lauded by evangelicals everywhere or an old episode of the Jerry Springer Show?

There is nothing wrong with Obama that abandonment of socialism and getting educated in constitutional republicanism wouldn't cure. He could start small by learning how many States there are in the country he wishes to "change." And perhaps a small amount of practice of his professed Christianity would help. But this, I suppose, is too much to HOPE for. After all, Democrats aren't held to the same standards, are they? Oh well, what's a little hypocrisy among left-wing self-righteous liberals who always play the "Christian" card when election year rolls around?
Heh, I like the guy Obama. He's got alot of qualities that most professing Christians can't even match. But he is irrelevant. He is sincere about his religion of pro-choice, progressive, tolerant "Christianity," and I don't knock him for it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the church or genuine Christian religion. Hillary is a radical liberal feminist who is as far from Christianity as it is possible to be. Again, she has nothing to do with us, and we have nothing to do with her.

Palin is masquerading as one of us, a "devout Christian mother of five," and by doing this she has dragged us into the mud along with her. So this is not hypocrisy, this is personal.

I'm dead serious here, Locke; you refuse to provide the simplest sort of hard evidence, & repeat a fallacious argument ad nauseum.
No, I have provided you with the simplest sort of hard evidence. She holds a full-time job and devoted herself to many hobbies a fact she herself has pointed out many times. You are not content with that. You want to know what hours in specific she was devoted to these other activities or how many exactly, whereas all that needed to really be pointed out is that she cannot be doing all these various other things and doing the difficult full-time work of raising her children. What you want to know is completely superfluous to my claims and judgments. If you have no objection to the fact that she is participating in a wide array of time-consuming activities outside of the home, then it is really pointless to continue this line of discussion.

On trailer trash: I call em' as I see it.

Locke, just for starters & to show good faith, please provide a reference informing us how often Gov. Palin goes hunting. Daily, weekly, monthly, or what?
Neil, I'm not going to play games with you. If she was a good mother, fully engaged and attending to her duties of motherhood full-time her daughter would not have been having intercourse at sixteen years old!! You can spin it every which way you want, you can pretend she was full-time mother with a full-time job and many outside hobbies, and you can pretend she manufactured an extra 24 hours out of each day in which to spend raising her children instead of engaging in her numerous well-advertised pursuits. You can sit here and lie and say that she was not a nasty and cruel mother to blast her baby out of her womb and then saying the heck with it, I'm gunning for VP!

You can bogusly claim she is now nursing and bonding with her disabled infant as she stomps across the country with McCain. You can disingenuously claim that she is making a quiet and calm and loving home for her new infant while far away in other states and cities in a national campaign. In other words, you can deny that she need fulfill the biblical role of the mother, but enough with your subterfuge.

Please tell me which data point appeared to you to be an "unsubstantiated generalization?" I can provide a reliable source to back up each piece of evidence I provided so please point out specifically which portion you have a problem with.

As far as your little logic construction I only ask you to consider the the inspired words of the Bible, "Train up a child in the way he should go;even when he is old he will not depart from it." Prov. 22:6 I WONDER why Amish children are almost invariably free of these problems?

ENGINEER, when did Obama put a hit out on that or any other baby? Did his wife have an abortion? Obama has made his position clear, that he wants to do everything in his power to stop the CAUSES of abortion and that will be more than the pro-lifer Bush has done in the past eight years where 1 million babies were murdered annually just like under the pro-choice Clinton.

But you beg the question; how do you know Mr. Palin is a "surrogate mother" if you cannot provide at least the overall time spent by Gov. Palin on non-parenting activities?
If you need more information than what I have already provided to form an informed opinion, good for you, you are welcome to do more research. As for me, I have plenty enough information to make a proper assessment including the indisputable fact that she just had a Down Syndrome baby 4 months ago and is now running in a rigorous national campaign for a 24/7 job for the next 4 years, followed by the next four years after that, followed by a rigorous national campaign for the presidency. I don't know whether you sincerely feel you need more information to make an appropriate judgment about the matter or whether you are just another Republican, evangelical hack who is selling out the Christian religion to score a few political points.

In any case, it is "beyond reasonable doubt" she is a terrible mother NOW in accepting to shill for McCain in exchange for raising her disabled child and teenage daughters. No reason to suspect she hasn't always been so and her children turned out exactly as I'd expect if she was as bad as the evidence implies.

Yes they are; you're attacking Palin *as a parent*, not merely on her gender, which is a separate issue.
No. I am attacking her as a MOTHER (& as a wife), even moreso a CHRISTIAN MOTHER, not merely as a generic parent. The father is a breadwinner and the head of the household so obviously he is not going to be around to be the surrogate mother for five children. The perverse role reversal in the relationship of Jezebel and Ahab is a far more apt comparison.

"Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct...For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening." 1 Pet. 3:1,5-6

Who did Barack murder again? In any case, it's less that I want "EVIL" (leftist unbeliever) to win as you say, than that I want a far greater EVIL (apostate Christian) to loose. Palin falls under the jurisdiction of the church whereas McCain, Biden, Obama do not. So my wanting Obama to win is contingent solely on Palin remaining in the race. If McCain does the smart thing a drops the apostate from his ticket I will be back to ignoring this comical political election as I have done all others.

You see my concern is for my country, the kingdom of God, not their country the United States of America. Palin has dual loyalties and has betrayed the one to gain power in the other. She must either be excommunicated from our community or she must step down and be reconciled to her husband and family.

Neil, David was a manly warrior not a housewife. The two situations aren't even remotely comparable.
