Jim Lincoln wrote:
Actually, Lance, the only thing you need to read is a Pilgrimage From Rome
I've seen it before, Jim. Pilgrimage to Damnation would be a more apt title.

God does things in his own time.

And Ed, I don't think the Pope is "trying to please" anyone.

For many Catholics in Milwaukee, Weakland's sudden resignation amidst a storm of scandal came in the nick of time. They had watched his baneful influence on the Church for years, even his wilful destruction of their cathedral.

I doubt that I'll read his book, but I wonder whether he expresses any remorse ‚Äď apart from his regret at being caught out.

The Vatican is right to insist that men with "disordered affections", even if they are perfectly celibate, not be accepted into seminaries.

The entire Mass is not blasphemous because there are scriptural parts to the Mass.
That seems to suggest that some parts of the Mass are blasphemous. Which parts, I wonder?

And Max, any RC who said that Christ's sacrifice is insufficient for our salvation would be placing himself outside the RCC.

The term "political correctness" must have taken on some fresh nuances of meaning since I last checked.

Well, we can be thankful at least he's not "insane and psychotic".

I think B16's point is that Muslims should refrain from killing all the infidels.

John Yurich USA wrote:
Why can't you and the other Evangelical Protestants on here recognize that the Catholic Church is just as much a True Church as Evangelical Protestant Churches
If by "my Catholic Church" you mean the [Roman] Catholic Church, then it is not "just as much a True Church" as the Evangelical Protestant Churches. It is the only True Church, representing Christianity in its fullness, and the only one that can offer salvation. You ought to get that into your head.

The others are man-made imitations of Christianity, with their roots going back merely a few centuries, or in some cases only a generation or two.

There he goes again!

I'm sure the Hawaiian senators meant well, with visions of peace, harmony and acceptance, but the sad truth is that it will lead to even more bitter division and non-acceptance.

Oh yes, some interesting comments from Professor Ignoble about how the Presbyterian, Baptist and Anglican Churches protested loudly about the fate of the Jews under Nazism.

Tony, if you'd just tell us where we can buy Jack Chick comic books, it would save you typing out all the captions from them.

Give up on Alberto Rivera, Tony. He was never a Jesuit or even a priest.

He lived in a fantasy world, making absurd claims about himself. Or is that what appeals to you about him?

I'm glad you came to that conclusion, Another Jeff. To consider that God causes man to sin for God's good pleasure would be turning God himself into a sinner.

Well, I certainly don't. If there are any "signs of the times", they're in the collapsing population bases of Europe, Japan, and other advanced countries.

"Protestant pastors aren't entirely convinced"

Thank God for that. It shows there are some sane people in the world.
