True Patriotism The institutionalization and cultural incorporation of Christianity has put the Church into many dilemmas it was never meant to be in. Paul, though a citizen and even a beneficiary of the Roman Empire, never had any interest in who the next emperor would be. He never had to ask himself if Rome should send soldiers to the latest theater of war. We have had in early America a time in which our entire country embraced and glorified the true God, and by their mutual surrender to God He prospered them. Why was it short lived? Because men can only live together in peace when they have mutually surrendered to One greater than themselves! Man cannot legislate the faith of others even if he rules the country! If the law given by God Himself for Israel was not sufficient to rule that people, can our own legislation have any better a result? America was a respite for the church but not its final destination. That destination is our true Country of which we must be strong patriots...Heaven! Our leader is Jesus Christ! We will never proclaim "Long live the king!" or "Four more years!" for this leader lives forever and has eternal rule over those who have surrendered their own weak self rule (or enslavement by the world) to Him.
