Dolores,

I'm praying for you and your son. It says a lot about you that you are trong enough to let go of your son, and it says a lot about him that he is courageous enough to stare evil in the face, and run into the face of danger. I'm praying that your son will be strong, and come home to you safely, and I hope others on this forum will do the same. God bless you and your son.

Goodnight to you as well! I hope you don't consider what I was saying as senseless biting and devouring! I certainly wasn't meaning to do so, and I apologize if you took it that way!

P.S. You just added to my argument by implying they are the "phony religious" of our day!

Ladybug writes:

"This chain should drop the word 'Christian' from it's title and simply call itself a book store."

By saying that you imply the people who own, operate, and work in this chain are not Christians. And all that's been offered has been the fact that they sell some things you and I don't agree with. But the same could be said about just about any store, and I don't see people on here shunning grocerie stores and super markets as well! (Even though there is usually worse in these kind of stores).

P.S. There is also no problem with calling you or your business Christian. We are Christians, and we should be willing to show everyone around us that we are such. So if your a company, you can let your customers know that you are a Christian and that your business is Christian by putting that in your title!

P.S. There's nothing wrong with a Bible that has notes in it. That's what a study Bible is, and the Geneva Bible (the one we used as a foundation for our country) included extensive notes, and could be considered a study Bible! And calling it the "John McArthur Study Bible" just tells you that the notes in the Bible are by John McArthur, not that this is his own new Bible with new words and new teachings. Besides, I agree with John McArthur on many things, as well as Paul Washer and many others. So I would wan't to know who's commentary is in the Bible that I'm buying!

Ladybug,

I wouldn't go so far as to say that FCB should drop Christian out of their name. Yes, they sell some things I don't agree with, but they also sell a lot of good materials! I don't understand why all of you feel you must trash it, but as I said in my other post, I really don't have any reasons for complaint about them. I'm sure every store is going to sell something you don't agree with, so if you wan't to start your own "perfect" business, then go ahead, but until you've done that, don't trash the people who actually have taken the time to do so. Even if you started a business, there would probably be stuff I would disagree with, and I would still not trash you for it! Different people believe differently, and there's no reason to call their Christianity into question just because you disagree with some of the things they sell! Their faith is between them and God, not them, you, and God!

Obviously Scripture is sufficient! FCB just is nice because it offers many good resources for questions such as Bibles, some good movies, and some good books!

I don't think you guys are being quite fair to FCB. They sell more than NIVs (I got my KJV there), and they do sell a lot of good movies and some good books. I don't agree with Osteen, but it is realy more the fault of Christian consumers for making a demand for Osteen than it is FBCs. Also, there charities are realy good, their customer service is good, and I really don't have many reasons to complain about them. Would you like everything sold at Walmart? Probably not, but you probably still go there! You don't need to like everything a business sells to make it a good business! And I think it is wrong to call these people "heretics". You don't know what all of them believe, and besides, as I said earlier, FBC carries plenty of good material as well! So stop trashing FBC because YOU don't like everything they sell!

I agree with P. O. T., people give to much credit to to many things they find on the internet. Unless I see multiple trusted sources saying it, I tend to be a tad more scepcical.

Like I said, some may be trying to work in cult symbols, but I'm sure not all of these companies are trying to work in cult symbols. That was all I was saying.

We as people have the God given right to decide what does and doesn't go into our bodies. I don't care about your "greater good" montra. Measles kills only 1 in 1,000 people. If you take that into consideration, there is less than 0.1% of people that actually COULD die from it. I'm not gonna be forced to inject some chemical into my body just because someone says I have to! Where in the Constitution does it give anyone the right to force vaccines on people? Where in the Bible does it give anyone that right? Nowhere.

How stupid do you have to be to be that teacher! "Oh yes, I don't know what to do if Freddie brings some fake, plastic ring to school and threatens to make Tommy disappear. After all, who knows if that ring might do something!"

Just because some jewelry and accessories happen to have triangles, owles, rainbows, or "off color expressions", does not make them satanic. There may very well be some that are meant to be satanic, but last time I checked, triangles were still a geometric shape, owles were still birds created by God that people are starting to use as a throwback to the 60's and 70's, rainbows were still a common thing along with butterflies to put on little girl parafanelia, and all colors were perfectly acceptable to use in art. Just sayin.

PursuitofTruth writes: If we're gonna talk about opression and compasion, let's recognize that the compasionate way to treat the illegal imigrants is to put them through the same process everyone else needs to go through. Illegal imigrants have been over worked in unsafe workplace environments for less than minimum wages for years now. Also, illegal immigrants are more likely to rely on some form of government wellfair than natural born citizens. And besides that, allowing these people in through our border opens us up for a huge national security threat! Al quaeda has talked of using our open border, and al quaeda afiliated groups were caught pretending to be hispanic illegal imigrants! This is a huge threat that can't be underestimated! The compasionat thing to do is not to look away while big companies use these people for cheap labor, but to enforce the rule of law and promote EQUAL oppurtunity to all who wish to become American citizens. EVERYONE should have to go through the legal route, not just the few who actually care about recognizing our laws!

Very well spoken P. O. T.!

Anyway, I'm glad Frankie mentioned Baby-face Bush.

Can you be more respectful to people? We can disagree with people without trashing them, or making fun of names! Why don't you try to be more respectful to these people, even if you disagree with them!
