Those comments by Joyner are some of the most misguided, misleading and downright false statements I think I've heard in some time. Tell a lie often enough and loud enough and people will believe it to be true. One problem I know the facts, so sell crazy some place else.
It's just like a soap opera. I can tune out for months and check in to see the same plot. Big Jim baselessly attacking the KJV. Thank goodness the Lockman foundation brought us the nas...and now all the following versions are owned by one company. NIV, NASB, ESV, NKJV, RSV, VOICE, AMP...we trust news corp and Rupert Murdoch to maintain the integrity of Gods holy word don't we? Oh and by the way same company owns and publishes The Satanic bible, Anton levy books and numerous books on witchcraft and satanism. But you're right it's about the integrity of the word, not profits...I will stick with the one that has been the incorruptible standard for 400 years, thanks.
This is why I stopped hanging out in here. That people would attack someone who just died is not following The Lord. Mark 9:38-39 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us:and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not:for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up:for God is able to make him stand.
It sounded more like they were saying "God is dead" and then the girl at the end said hail...either way the heart and character of the two side were clearly demonstrated. It's not about choice, family, women its about a godless practice of killing children in the name of convenience.
Should be a hate crime. If this were reversed and 2 gay rights men were beaten up at a Christian rally it would be everywhere in the news and the attacking Christians would be charged with a hate crime for sure.
We are told by the lower critics that we didn't actually have the Bible until after the Apostles were gone. So why would the Sovereign God put so many examples of tongues and spend 3 chapters in Cor. Dealing with proper order of gifts when they would cease long before we had the Bible? Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. The context is the gift of the Holy Spirit. And the scripture used for tongues shall cease, is so badly dissected from its context in order to force a preconceived meaning. Never would these same theologians allow a doctrine to be built on a scripture so obviously yanked from its context and certainly not without corroboration. Out of the mouth of one witness? Sadduceans of our day. They believe only in natural, supernatural is unacceptable. The Bible is the authority and the overwhelming evidence for the supernatural gifts is obvious to any unbiased reader. And according to some we didn't get the Bible until the NASB so tongues couldn't have ceased until 1900's....since cessation it's say that is t"that which is complete"
Love the backflips of the new Calvinists. The scripture was God is not willing that any should perish...you misdirected the quote and the answer better than a politician. In unconditional election God is willing that some perish. It's plain it's simple, and it does not line up with scripture. You can't just pick a different scripture that massages the point better. That's what the cults do. If its sola scriptural it is all of scripture not just the ones that fit.
First of all the scriptural context of blaspheming the Holy Spirit was contributing the works of the Holy Spirit to satan, not the works of satan to the Holy Spirit. And if they are the works of the Holy Spirit then it is more likely John would be in the context of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. I am not ready to throw that accusation anyone's way and I think it is foolish for anyone to do so.
It is illogical for people to be active atheists, but rather they are anti-theist. It's not that they don't believe but they don't want anyone to believe. To set up a hotline for something you don't believe in is like setting up a hotline for people struggling with their belief in Santa and the tooth fairy. Romans says they do not like to retain God in their knowledge...they are anti-theists the belief that belief in God is to be persecuted, ridiculed and erased from society at all cost.
If one carefully reads the scriptures there are very good arguments to be made for each point on both sides. Which is why this debate has raged for a thousand plus years and should The Lord tarry will likely continue when we are gone. We can pick a side or even agree with points on either side more strongly then the other. The bottom line the Bible is our authority and not a systematic theology that demands rigid adherence or utter rejection. Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God not Tulip and not Remonstrance.
Calvinism vs Arminianism a balanced explanation of TULIP and Arminian positions C- Total Depravity ( man unable to choose, repent or believe as an act of his will) A - total depravity with prevenient grace ( through the gospel God gives grace: the ability for man to repent and believe and the choice to do so)
C- Unconditional Election (God sovereignly chooses as man cannot; God is sovereign period) A- Conditional Election ( God chooses based on His foreknowledge of mans choice; Gods seveignty and mans free will )
C-Limited Atonement ( since only the elect are saved Christ atoned only for the sins of those whom He has chosen) A- Unlimited Atonement ( Jesus died for the sins of the whole world that whosoever believeth on Him may have everlasting life)
C-Irresistible Grace ( the elect are incapable of resisting grace since it is Gods choice not theirs) A- grace can be resisted (based on scriptures like today if you hear harden not your heart, and ye do always resist the Holy Spirit...)
C- Perserverance of the saints ( because it is God who chooses, justifies, sanctifies the elect it is impossible for them to fall away and be lost) A - Conditional Security ( because it is mans choice he can turn away from The Lord and become apostate, this is an act of the will and
The post below compares the five points of the Arminian Remonstrants with Biblical Calvinism.
Those are not the points of remonstrance as they were listed but a commentary type view on them from someone who does not want to consider them but diminish them before the discussion begins. Inflammatory language and false descriptions, just weights and measures please, if you are right no need to color outside the lines...
Presbyterians points of Armenianism would never be accepted by anyone, they are argumentative and just plain false distortions of biblical positions that can be defended. If you want a great presentation of both sides to truly understand them without the bias of either side. Listen to Keith Daniel Clavinism vs Armenianism, on this sermon audio site.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Matthew 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. Just do a search on whosoever...whosoever believes, whosoever will...I think Jesus knew what He was talking about.
