huff,
no, the rule change did not have anything to do with God, like the democrat's did. I apologize. I see now that my comment wasnt applicable.
the rule change had to do with chaanging the number of states to nominate a candidate and the removal of states being able to choose their own delegates to the national convention. it can now be decided by the national commitee as to whether the delegate is worthy or loyal enough to the anointed candidate. It is now legal on tje party to do what they did to maine, oregon, mass, and many ohers.

huff,
this was awful!!!

regarding the dems convention... if you are refering to the totally fradulant vote were they clearly called it wrong from the chair...the republicans did the exact same thing regarding a very important/wrongful rule change. the teleprompter even called the vote befor tge votes were cast.

both parties are corrupt. bad jugdgement

jim,
the whole political process is full of corruption, both republican and democrat. unfortunately whether you are a good person or a rotton person, that corrupt system is the only system. the republicans were rotton to ron paul and obama is despicable. it is to bad that good men like ron paul who care are run over by the power hungry, corrupt garbage that we have running the major parties. by the way both parties are stomping all oveer the connstitution and godly principals

Ron Paul is a man of character. His faith is solid and he is principles to the point of having to stand alone more than once.

Whether you agree with him or not at least you know he believes what he says. The others have made careers out of changing their tune to fit the audience.

If you looked any deeper than the talking heads and main news outlets you would see the incredible corruption that was rampant during the republican caucuses. All of that culminated with and incredibly unethical power grab at the RNC.

Most have no clue about any of this, even though the corruption was so bad that the main delegation, walked out of the convention. The republican governor of Main refused to attend the entire event in Tampa because the GOP, without cause unseated half of the duly elected delegates and replaced them with Romney Loyalists.

Basically we sit by and let somebody else pick our candidate and then complain that we have no choice.

We, collectively through ignorance, made our bed...

Elections are decided in the Primaries and Caucuses. Until people (lots of people) sort that out we will be force-fed garbage candidates.

...and this is why you all should have supported Dr. Ron Paul in the primary.

Pastor Mike wrote:
My opinion is that the theory which best describes the teaching of salvation as written in the Bible is Calvinism. However, I don't believe the Bible is actually true, which means the whole controversy isn't of much interest. So I guess you could call me a Calvinistic atheist.
Now is it that I can't believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster or that I won't believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
Pastor Mike,

If you ever get on track at least you will be on the right track.

Regards,
Idaho

hello pastor mike,
my full mental prowess is on display here. it wasnt newton. it was a french guy. anyway, basically i think that the second law of thermodynamics states that through time, heat and energy things fall apart, not come together. which is why stuff left out in the sun for a couple of years looks awful. without positive/constructive energy things that are in order would start to become out of order. that is why i would question (among many other things) the extensive time frame that macro evolution would require. it seems that matter would not only have to better itself through chamce(very difficult odds) but also do so upstreem(2nd law of thermodynamics(the effects of temperature change, environment and energy) that is why i feel the question of the natual/observable laws of our universe are important. did they change and will they change again? if so, then we are up a creek, because they are no longer laws that we can no longer count on because they may change on us down the road.

on another note: what is it that a humanist holds as yhe highest calling or main goal of ones life?

i guess i should clarify. im on my mobil and somehow missed the "o" in idaho. by the way, thanks for the background info. i was a welder, drafter, then electrical designer and now a business owner. i have just a associate degree in welding. So, as i surmised i wont be out duelling you with words.

anyway. so i believe in God. you believe in evolution.(i assume) because i believe He has always existed and that the begining of time was at creation, i am exercizing faith since i wasnt there. likewise your "faith" is that either matter always existed or that in came into existace at some point in time. at that point by chance matter began to better itself through abnormal reproduction until it became something more developed. so by chance things kept getting better/more developed until here we are chatting about it all over invisible waves soaring through space. now a question. in high school i learned about newton's 2nd law of ... has that always existed or did it just start at a certain time? here is another thougjt that came to mind. if random chance and servival of the fittest is how we got to where we are, then shouldt we just let it keep improving us? if evolution an all it aspouses are true then why are we so comcerned by the effects of our choices? shouldnt
