In other words It seems to me that when those who oppose the choices of the outsider are setting themselves up as the conscience of the culture. I don't see that role in scripture for believers, even when they attempt to say these things in the structure of a democracy. We are not called to point out the outsider's mistakes however much it may scratch the itch of personal pride. We are called to be more of a counter-culture and less of a part of the dominant culture which the conscience must be. Love in a culture of hatred is a rebelious act. Let's be rebels for the common good. |
