Great Sermon! To teach on 'Revelation' is so necessary. Thank you brother for attempting it.
Like to make one comment for the moment.
It is my view that all the common views all have their place in understanding how the Book relates in human history.
What is most important is that we read, hear and obey what is written. After all is is about Jesus Christ our Lord and God. Thank You Father for giving it to Jesus.
We experienced technical difficulties Here is the outline, with scripture references from the sermon.
A. The IDENTITY and CLEANSING of The Conscience
Prov 20:27 – man’s spirit as his conscience
Rom 2:14-15 – the heathen “law unto itself”
1. The Conscience Is God's WITNESS In Our Soul that Testifies of Our CONDUCT
2. The Conscience Must Be CLEANSED by Christ's BLOOD to Judge Correctly
Heb 9:14 – Our works are dead without a blood-washed conscience
Heb 10:22 – True confession brings a sprinkling of the conscience. Worship without this is hypocritical.
B. The Definition of a Blameless Conscience
1. What a Blameless Conscience Is Not
a. It is a conscience that is not DEFILED
Titus 1:15 – the state of our conscience corresponds to our perception
b. It is a conscience that is not DELUDED
Is 5:20 - calling good evil...
Luke 11:35 – our conscience depends on proper instruction
Luke 16:15 – our conscience depends on properly-placed justification
Phils 3:17-21 – our conscience depends on proper examples
c. It is a conscience that is not DEADENED
1 Tim 4:1-2 – the seared conscience, one burned so often that it no longer has a "reflex"
2 Tim 4:3 – when easy religion avoids matters of the conscience
The January 13, 2013 sermon continued with point B.2.: "What a Blameless Conscience Is"
Great Sermon! AMEN! Rev. Silversides, another outstanding sermon on one of my favorite topics the Kingship of Christ!! May the Lord our God richly bless you and your ministry! God Bless.
Great Sermon! Rev. Silversides, the Lord is powerfully working throuth you during your reading of the book of Isaiah. It's been a true blessing listening to you read throuth this book of God.
Great Sermon! I found this sermon to be very eye opening. I love the way you talked about when God shut the door and the people came. But by then it was to late.
This was a very good sermon. I loved it!!
Something to keep in mind Remember that the world also includes the apostate church. I'm finding that just sticking to the Bible helps me to endure and identify stuff like this more than anything else.
Warnings like this are necessary, but please don't let them get you down. Remember, the Lord Jesus Christ knows who are his!
VERY Important Lecture Many of us have tried to argue for God's existence by pointing to the creation, thinking of the common understanding of Romans 1:20...which does not mean what most think it means. God is not obvious by the creation; God is obvious by the image he manifests in us. To look to the creation is to go the way of which that passage warns.
Dr. Robbins details the many pitfalls of the empiricist postion, particularly the unreliability of the senses. He also exposes the limitations of the empiricist argument for God itself: it doesn't necessarily prove the God of the Bible, and in fact can prove polytheism just as easily. The "watchmaker" argument is examined.
The unmistakable conclusion of this approach is that if it is true, then the Bible is false. Which is why this is such an important lecture for all Christians, especially witnessing ones.
