33k: a third option presents itself. Has the western world(ly) church accepted a Christianity that is wide and broad, rather than strait and narrow? So that when a new pastor comes is called to a church, he find himself confronted with many members that show little or no signs of life. Then when they are rebuked they get offended and leave. God our Father never cuts off those that the Son has purchased. But sometimes the weeds need pulled out, if you know what I mean.

One of their (sodomites) main commandments is this: "Thou shalt not tolerate intolerance." And I like this definition: "Bigot, n. One who is obstinately and zealously attached to an opinion that you do not entertain."

A marriage is meant to have three kinds of love:
spiritual love,
emotional love,
and physical love.
The more types are in a marriage, the more likely it is to succeed.

Since they referred to distributing Bibles, we may reasonably assume that these folks would consider themselves Christians. If they are, they need to realize that this is just a physical manifestation of the spiritual war that is going on all around us. Instead of whining, they should START DISTRIBUTING BIBLES!

(quoting from www.baptistpress.com/bpnews.asp?id=27825

"'He's a historical Episcopalian, and if you and I sat down with him and started talking Baptist talk, he just doesn't have that kind of vocabulary,' Yeary said."

What exactly is Baptist talk? How is this supposed to justify McCain not talking about his faith? If he doesn't have the vocabulary, does he have the new heart and mind that would naturally produce such a vocabulary?

"The U.S. senator from Arizona was raised Episcopalian but has been attending North Phoenix Baptist Church for approximately the past 15 years when in Arizona. He's not a member, although his wife is."

God's program is the local church. Something is amiss when you call yourself a Christian, but don't feel the need to join yourself to other Christians!

I believe I see a typo: instead of "lent a matrimonial touch" it should read "lent a load of nausea"

Reminds me of a medieval fair I went to recently. The American knight was supposed to give his flower to the lady (traditionally) of his choice. We being in Canada, someone in the crowd made some choice remark about including the other gender. The knight said "No, god didn't make them Adam and Steve, he made them Adam and Eve..." This not being by any stretch of the imagination a religious event, I thought to myself: "Wow, we might have something going here!" As he paused, I began to clap loud enough for his and other heads to turn my way. Then to my embarrassment, he finished with "...and Rebecca, and Barbara, and Sarah..."

I say, what's a cross? Now, prayer in schools, or displaying the 10 commandments, that's different!

it would appear that our Canadian bastion of darkness and falsehood (catholicism) would need to fall or compromise before the punishment of "homophobic" clergy can become widespread. Unless they plan to only target evangelicals (true Christians)...

"Martin Luther King Jr., Land said, 'is smiling today.'"

if you go to this site, you will see that Mr. king denied basic and important Christian doctrines: http://www.stanford.edu/group/King/
publications/papers/vol1/491123-
What_Experiences_of_Christians.htm
(remove spaces)

this sounds hard, but I don't see how he could be smiling in hell.

jj: I wonder what you mean by "attend"... I trust that you are not forgetting Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." The Bride of Christ is in need of revival. No church is perfect. So get on board, obey God's word, and do something about it!

Faith: then your cartoon would be God in a rocking chair in heaven, just hoping that maybe somebody will accept his Son...oh, if only he could do something about it. If God is not omnipotently in control of all things, then just toss the Bible why don't you?

yes bernie, he uses his word, but as per Revelation 22:18-19, there are some versions which most certainly don't have the blessing of God, because they have been cut here and pasted there, according as the translators translated from corrupt texts.

"although he was forced to publicly pronounce himself an atheist"
he was not forced, and if he were a Christian he would have stood out and been a witness for Christ.

Lance: by the way, KJV1611 can KNOW that he is going to heaven because he has most likely read I John 5:13, and Romans 8:16 declares that the Holy Spirit also confirms to our hearts that we are truly born again. A roman catholic can never have that confident assurance. You must always stay in favor with the church, keep going to confessional, attend mass, etc etc. Even after death, the best that you have to look forward to is X number of years in hell (little h), i.e. purgatory.
