So by the logic of banning guns because some humans have used them to harm or kill innocent people, we should also protect ourselves from ourselves by banning the use of fire...! Marauders and arsonists have killed innocent people throughout history to torch homes and public buildings... and it is unconscionable to allow ourselves to continue to use combustion to heat homes, since innocent children have fallen into fireplaces and been badly burned or died...!

Only cultists would defend the use of fire for practical purposes... protecting their children from freezing to death is the same false logic as home owners having guns to protect their families from thieves, rapists, and murderers...!

I think it is important to differentiate between "moral laws" and "ceremonial" laws and levitical "dietary guidelines", both in our own edification and apologetic when witnessing or defending our faith...
otherwise, we might become legalists and judaize ourselves into following the 613 mitzvot...

Jesus was the perfect sacrifice that did away with the "ceremonial law", however, the "moral" law is still in effect, i.e. the Decalogue... even though we are in a new dispensation of Grace, we are still to follow the two commandments Christ gave us... to love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and treat others accordingly...

Because most Americans would rather "own" a Bible than bend the knee to Jesus Christ and conform their will to the Word of God... or it was given to them as a gift by their aging grandparent, and they hang onto it for "sentimental" reasons... I collect used KJV's from thrift stores, and it is amazing how many are in mint condition, with a hand written note by Grandma from Xmas 1982 on the first page... how sad...!
