Thank you of this reminder of God's faithful provision when all we can see in front of us is a potential massacre, whether it is from illness, lack of finances, betrayal or even an all out spiritual war...He protects and provides for us when we raise our prayers to Him that is able. As long as we are walking in His will, having completely submitted our lives to Him, walking in His Light through the holy scriptures (His love letter to us),keeping in step with the Holy Spirit's prompting, we know we can turn to Him and with confidence, expect His answer and continual care. What a gift that we can call Him Abba, Father.
Our congregation is so blessed to have the PSC that we do. You all truly do represent us.
Brothers and sisters we have seen in difficult times of not having a pastor how He has so blessed us in many ways and continues to sustain us. For example, in our pulpit supply, in additional help from our teaching elders and our ruling elders, in our diaconate to our congregation members! I can only imagine when the man God has called comes along, how truly awesome that will be.
PSC keep encouraged, the church continues to pray and we all know His timing is perfect!
I know about this time you all may be feeling a little weary...it's human and the process is challenging to say the least. I just want to assure you that your church family will not faint and we will continue to lift each one of you up in prayer. Please be encouraged, as you are well aware the Lord knows the man, continue to pray fervently together as a team that He would direct you to the one that He has called.
Judy, first and foremost, I would like to thank you and the committee for keeping us "in the loop" on the proceedings of the Pastoral Search Committee through the blog on our website.
In your blog you mention comments on traits that members would like to see in a new pastor. When I reflect on all the traits I want in a pastor, I realize that one man could not possibly possess all the traits I want in a pastor...if so, that would have to be Christ himself! I personally need to trust God more with the details. God will give us the man of His choosing, knowing fully well what Pinelands needs for such a time as this.
We know God is faithful and that those praying for you all are asking that He give you His wisdom and discernment, knowing His character, He will grant you our requests. Each one of you have the Holy Spirit indwelling and He is receptive.
Mike, thanks for the update through our blog! Great idea. Bill and I are very thankful for our PSC. Bill sat on the previous PSC and knows what goes into the process and prayer is the number one priority. We praise God for you all and the hard work you are putting in and know you are a true representation of this congregation, knowing what Pineland's needs in a new Pastor as well as not getting in God's way but allowing His leading and directives. Thank you for keeping us up to date. We pray for the PSC in all ways.
Rich, I enjoyed reading your blog! It is encouraging hearing from our leaders during this time. It would be nice if our session felt led to do this occasionally.
I, too, feel very much that Pinelands is on an adventurous journey, knowing that God already has His man for Pinelands and that the Search Committee is the discovery team on the expedition attempting to locate him. The congregation prays for the members of the search team and depends on the Holy Spirit to give guidance to them as they meet weekly.
It is indeed very exciting to see what the Lord has in store for his faithful at Pinelands!
