Walt talks about my ignorance of scripture, but then offers none of his own on topic? I have a Doctorate Degree and double bachelors and a genius level IQ, so I doubt my ignorance is the problem. This is the same old argument of Truth v. Tradition. People cling to their preconcieved traditions over the actual Word of God everyday. Aren't there enough sins without inventing new ones? Traditional Christians also said that cosmetics, TV, radio, dancing, wearing bright colors, jewelry, even wedding rings, movies, and sex even between 1 man and 1 woman who are married, and everything else, was a sin and they assured us we were all going to hell for it and that the Bible said so. Walt talked about bringing back slavery- isn't that exactly what you are doing by reviving the law- the law of sin and death that Jesus came to fulfill and deliver us from the curse of? Another thing, we are commanded by Jesus to treat each other with love, and I am seeing more name calling and hateful behavior toward each other than I'm comfortable with, over an issue that ultimately doesnt matter. If God doesn't condemn us, and our hearts don't, then why do you people? Examine yourselves. I think there is more interest among you in being right then there is in finding out God's opinion. |

Ok, am I the only one that sees the insanity of arguing that God joined Adam and Eve together, so we should all be monogamous. If there are only 2 people in existance, of course they were a monogamous couple. Polygamy wasn't a choice yet, but as soon as more people came along, then there was polygamy almost immediately.Exodus 21:10 "If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing or marital rights." Why have a rule about taking another wife if it was a sin instead of just banning the practice- or are we to believe God didn't inspire this part of the Bible and it's not true? Here's where God himself committed the "sin" of creating a polygamous marriage- or you must say that you believe part of the Bible is a lie. 2 Sam 12:8 (amplified) [God said to David, through Nathan,] "I also gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your care, and I gave you the house of Israel and Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have added to you many more things like these!" I don't want to hear anyone's opinions or philosophies- just Bible from people who care about what it actually says and not those who commit the sin (Yes, it's a sin) of adding their personal beliefs to the Bible. |
