Good Subject Good subject. Frankly, I think we are so far deceived on this issue that we fail to see that one-piece bathing suits and bare chested men are not modest either. My wife and daughters wear shorts and t-shirts when going swimming. We avoid swimming pools because of what previous generations would call nudity and public underwear but what we today call bathing suits.
Great Sermon! Hello Pastor Sean,
I just came across this interview. I was astounded at the similarity to my own experience. I preached a sermon against homosexuality not long after yours (I hadn't heard of you at the time)and I got the same treatment you got. The Huffington Post found it. CNN called. Anderson Cooper wanting to interview me. I declined. I think we know now why he had such an interest in interviewing people like you and me. Hateful phone calls and emails ensued. Protests, news coverage. When you said in your interview that you thought they would just move on to the next target, I laughed out loud. They did, indeed. They moved on to me. After me, came Chick-Fil-A. Who's next? In any case, continue strong in the Lord, brother. I, too, know what it is like to have a couple of sentences ripped out of a sermon and mangled until it has a horrible shape.
Grace, mercy and peace,
Scripture It is hard to distinguish your dislike for the SA rep's words from the words of scripture itself. Do you also have a problem with God commanding death for gays in the OT, as well as other offenses? It sounds like you do. Do you have a problem with Paul saying it in Rom. 1:32? If Moses and Paul said it, speaking for God, why can't this man repeat it? Since Paul repeated it, all your objections about the death penalty being required for ALL OT capital offenses become invalid. England put homosexuals to death for over 300 years. Matthew Henry had no problem with that and never made all the inferences and objections you make. The way you speak makes it sound like you think the death penalty was barbaric in the OT. You charge this man, and others, with singling out homosexuals for death. But how do you know that he does so? Can't a person sometimes single out homosexuality without necessarily being guilty of focusing on that sin to the exclusion of all other sins? Must we mention every sin every time we preach? Doesn't the constant barrage of homosexual propaganda warrant a few sermons that deal with this subject alone?
