It is quite extraordinary that Baptist tradition has emerged upon a fractured interpretation of Scripture. But if they are not prepared to join up the dots of Scripture and if they are prepared to delete parts of the Word of God - then anything is possible.
Having no concept of the Covenant of Grace in their theory requires them to base their polemics upon an incomplete religious ideology. The fact that Baptist Tradition stems from Anabaptist misconception is very revealing. By distorting the OT and rejecting GOD's doctrine, omitting HIS established Covenant with the people of God, begs the question - "How can anyone base their religious tradition on a partial acceptance of the Bible?" Echoes of Rev 22:19.
Answer "To fabricate a tradition without GOD's decreed and declared precepts." Matt 5:18??
The Covenant of Grace is mission from the Baptist tradition and doctrine. Its removal distorts the very basis of Christian orthodox and historic teaching on baptism. How incredible that they have called themselves after the very doctrine which they refute and refuse to believe.

The Baptists refuse to accept the Covenant of Grace and its recorded statutes for one reason alone - That it proves them wrong.

Christ Jesus is the Mediator of the Covenant of Grace.
The Covenant was first ordained and promised to Abraham By God at Genesis 17. Included in that Covenant was Abraham's seed ie children specifically Isaac see v19+21.
"V7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee."
V10 states that circumcision IS the Covenant.
V12 states that God commands and ordains that infants (m) will be circumcised.
Note that GOD makes all these rules and precepts for the Covenant of Grace.
God also states that it is an EVERLASTING Covenant.
The 'spiritual' aspect from God's grace of circumcision is the circumcision of the heart. EG: Deut 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed" - Thus this is God's promise and work in the Covenant. (Note Ezek 44:7ff)
Notice the circumcision connection with baptism in Col 2:11,12.
The MEDIATOR of Abraham's Covenant is of course Christ Jesus. Thus the Mediator of the Covenant has never changed. Jesus as Mediator is not just a debater in this task - HE is saviour, redeemer, reconciler, surety and intercessor of the Covenant of Grace. For Abraham, his seed and all of the elect.

God used the Reformers to build the real Church. Still does today too.

Michael You'll find the precepts of God's Holy Covenant of Grace with His people in Genesis 17. Note especially God's Love, mercy and guarantee of the SEED of His people. The PROMISE of GOD. This is why and how God commands us to baptise our seed today. Amen and Halleluiah Praise the Lord for HIS 'eternal' Covenant. Heb 13:20

Talking about history Michael, don't forget to mention that the Baptist ideology was concocted in the year 1521 by a bunch of heretics called Anabaptists.

Celebrate the Birth of the Mediator of the Covenant of Grace. You know who HE is don't you?

Remember to keep the commands of God as per the precepts of the Covenant of Grace in Genesis 17.

Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

1Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
