God has his way in the whirlwind What an amazing lesson about deliverance from depths of hopelessness is found in the historical narrative in the 27th chapter of the book of Acts pertaining to the men caught in the Euroclydon storm in the Mediterranean Sea. A ship full of prisoners bound for Rome, yet both prisoners and overseers are brought to a common level in the face of the relentless fury of the storm, and the seemly sure death that was fast approaching. It was only a matter of time and they would be no more, but no, God appears to Paul and outlines how they are to escape with their lives. Praise God!
A message for the gardeners Those that take pleasure in gardening shall enjoy this message centering around Song of Solomon 4:12. Evidently Mr. Ryle was a gardener himself, for the illustrations he uses tend to indicate that. So draw aside from the world for a while and be refreshed amidst the wonders of God's enclosed garden.
Powerful message I can't remember ever hearing a more illustrative preached message regarding the disproportionate results of what we speak. It takes omnipotence to tame our tongue as our own failures, despite our best efforts, give testimony to. Thank God, that power is available to those that ask for it. "O LORD...keep the door of my lips".
Excellent message on deferring to God's way I echo the sentiments of the other posted comments. There are a number of admonitions to godly living in the first several verses of Psalm 37. One of those items is resting in the LORD, ceasing from our own works and wisdom, and waiting patiently for him. Jesus Christ left us an example that we should follow in his steps. When he suffered he threatened not, but committed himself unto him that judges righteously. May we uphold brother McCrea and others like him in prayer, that they may be the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message in the time that remains. Maranatha! (an exclamation of the approaching divine judgment) Alleluia: for the LORD God omnipotent reigns!
Plain preaching on prevailing prayer A number of points are made in this message about the importance of prayer in the spiritual life of a Christian. As is pointed out, either you are going forward or you are losing ground.
Needful reminder about seeking God This is a short message about a very simple text. Most of us who read the scripture know it, but do we believe it? Why not? Let us be in earnest and cast aside our half-heartedness!
Good message A very imaginative and informative presentation centering on the defense of the Received Text of the New Testament. Sorry to say, the speaker did not have enough time to finish his interesting presentation. A number of good points are made regarding the preservation of the Scripture by God.
Solid message Good basic message on the truth of the preservation of scripture by God. As pointed out, the word of God has been preserved by and among the elect people of God. The oracles of God have been committed to the people of God. Through Jesus Christ, the church is the pillar and ground of the truth because it is holding forth the word of life.
Good scriptural admonition Here is a insightful message in dealing with the sins of the ears, tongue and temper. The first part of the message is a little lackluster, but the rest is packed with practical admonitions and illustrations. As Thomas Manton said, "Anger is not to be trusted..."
Good testimony This a an interesting and model testimony. Too often, what is called a testimony tends to emphasize the sins that a person has committed rather than being filled with words which minister grace unto the hearers. Not so here.
