I am sure that certain contributors to this website forum will be jumping up and down with glee at this news. I wish this pastor and his church well, but fear this will embolden the globalists in their campaign against the church. Dr Trieber should have taken the call from President Trump. This is not a victory for the church. He is still required to pay the fines, he still has to keep his ministries closed, and in the outside services, singing is still banned, masks must be worn, and social distancing practiced and no real fellowship permitted. What about outside services when the cold winter weather comes,(though I don’t know how cold it gets in California). I do hope John MacArthur does hold out. Things here in Britain are very bleak. The leftist parties here of course are all for masks, lockdowns and indefinite restrictions, but PM Boris Johnson is truly torn. His Chancellor of the Exchequer and Business Minister oppose widespread restrictions, as do the backbench MPs, (they are calling for greater parliamentary scrutiny). But the PM is in the grip of his Health Secretary, and the 2 scientific and medical officers, so he is imposing tighter restrictions and local lockdowns. As for the church here, it is supine and fully masked and rolled over in obedience a long time ago.

Yes, here in England, singing is banned too. When churches regather this weekend, they will have to have said services. My church will not be amongst them. They are using Zoom now, but I listen to the sound recordings in SA later. I think the pastor and elders decided, as the church, including the pastor himself and at least one of the elders is elderly, and singing is banned, it would be better to livestream for the time being. I think taping off seats (we have pews not moveable chairs) and fiddling about with one way systems was too much!! At least I get to hear the lovely singing elder as they put him on as a solo with a piano in the hymn singing. I will continue, God willing, to listen live to the Met Tab, which uses recorded hymns, but I don’t know what will happen with a live congregation, as they cannot sing!!

I think the California decision is particularly egregious and very spiteful, because everyone there has to wear masks anyway, and the governor reacted both to the churches saying they would meet, and to the iniquitous Supreme Court decision in his favour.

Even here in England, in fact, Britain as a whole, universities have gone down this ultra liberal path. Students have demanded statues be removed, like that of Cecil Rhodes in Oriel College, Oxford (the college has now decided it is going to be removed), LGBT and transgenderism is riding high,Islamic Societies are very powerful, racial quotas are in force, feminism is unbridled, (except when the feminists discover they have got to incorporate transgender “women” - biological men who wish to be women), and of course environmentalism, veganism, animal rights, pro-abortion is all very fashionable.

Professors and academic staff are threatened with discipline if they deviate from this new orthodoxy, and done already have to have security as their lives have been threatened!

However, when I was in college in the 1970’s, I already saw some of these things developing. Now it is just much more aggressive and forceful.

No rewards in heaven

“ Blessed Truth! ”
Thankyou Lord Jesus for this blessed truth, faithfully proclaimed by your grace and mercy by our dear brother. I hope this will be used of God in helping His people understand that all we need is Christ and for each of us to examine our motives for serving God. Are we coveting "extra rewards" or seeking God's glory out of thankful hearts for such great salvation? - God is our reward - He is all we need.

“ The Truth of Substitution ”
Amen! Jesus Christ was an UNBLEMISHED sacrifice. "He was made sin, really made sin; not in His nature, for He was holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners; but he was made sin in covenant contract, as the Head and Representative of His people. Poor tempted child of God, poor believer, thy blindness, thy hardness, thy pride, thy lust, thy unbelief, and the plague of thy heart, were all imputed to Christ; he bore the blame, and put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself." (William Gadsby)

“ Great Sermon! ”
Amen! Brother Scott Richardson teaches us the wonderful truth of how Christ was made sin by imputation and we, His people, are made righteous by imputation! A faithful presentation of the gospel. Highly recommended.

“ Amen! ”
A wonderful sermon. Salvation is by grace alone and as Ian points out in this message, it is the grace of God that makes us to differ, so let us seek to never find ourselves boasting, not even for a moment! To God be the glory, for His marvelous, distinguishing grace!

Sermon:
The Patience of Job
Prof D. Engelsma

“ Thankyou ”
In this sermon, our brother teaches us about the secret of Job's patience and the reason for his patience. I have to say that this was probably the most comforting and encouraging sermon I have heard on the subject of suffering and gave me much reason to rejoice. Always keeping our mind on things above, on Christ Jesus our Lord and the life to come, is what gives us such comfort as we, at times, struggle through this life.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Another excellent, faithful study of God's Word by brother Alfred where he allows the bible to be it's own interpreter. Alfred clearly shows from the Word of God alone who "The great Prince" of Daniel 12:1 truly is.

The Longsuffering of God
Pastor Alfred J. Chompff

“ Great Sermon! ”
Another excellent sermon by brother Alfred comparing scripture with scripture and helping God's people to understand and rejoice in more truth from God's word. This sermon is an exhortation to churches to remain faithful and to be steadfast in standing for the truth of the word and to strive to be obedient to our Lord Jesus in ALL things. Alfred also briefly explains the great apostasy that will come upon the churches and congregations during the great tribulation period when men will not endure sound doctrine and will have itching ears and they will rather turn their ears unto fables. It is the time when the holy people will be scattered and satan will have been loosed out of His prison.(see Daniel 12)

“ Great sermon! ”
This is a fantastic sermon by brother Alfred and I really enjoyed it and praise God that there is so much to learn in His word. So many wonderful parables to study and pray for the meaning of throughout the Old Testament. If you want to learn more about the spiritual/parabolic truth of Genesis 24:1-9 and how it is pointing to the wonderful gift of salvation through Christ Jesus our Lord then please listen to this.

Thankyou Alfred. A Great sermon, and one that I will come back to listen to many times. It really motivated me to keep my mind stayed on those things which are above and not on the things if this world.
