I just loved this article! I have no ability in and of myself to please God! God is not at all impressed with me apart from what Christ is in me! We are not given ability, we are given Christ Jesus, He is our ability! We must deny our SELF, pick up our cross, follow Him. Our independence, self sufficiency, our default -auto pilot setting is to be abhorred. We must be dependent upon Him! He is the only one capable of living the Christian life, and we must present our bodies a living sacrifice, surrendered to Him, that He, by His indwelling Spirit might make manifest the Christian life in us! We must abide in Him("for apart from Me ye can do nothing), He is my Rock, my Strong Tower, my everything! ( i can go on and on, but u guys get the picture - Praise the Lord!!). Psalm 40:16 let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. |

My 2 cents: its okay to have things, but it's not okay for things to have me.1Cor6:12~all things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but i will not be brought under the power of any. I can't in good conscience drink alcohol. Rom14:23~And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. |

You can have all the bible knowledge in the world. You can have a grasp of all the important doctrines. You could use the language of a Christian. You could know where to say "uh huh" to all of the questions pertaining to faith. You could have a gigantic intellect. You could go to church and assemble w/ believers everyday. You could help every old lady with her grocery bags. But are you born again?!? Have you passed from death unto life? If you havent all the aforementioned deeds are nothing more than SELF righteousness! Filthy rags! When God gives you eyes to see, by His grace you see that nothing you do is righteous! Deny thySELF, pick up thy cross, follow me! How humbling it is to know how inadequate I am, but that knowledge pushes me to the only adequacy, the only righteous, the only way, JESUS CHRIST!! The Truth in a world of vanity! We're never given strength, wisdom, power. As a Christian we're given Jesus Christ! He is our strength, He is our wisdom, He is our power! We are no more than recipients of grace! Thank you God! Thy will be done! |

My, a nobody's, 2 cents:
What we would label a "mistake", couldnt be a mistake if Jesus (I AM, God the Son, God incarnate, Creator of everything created, The uncaused Cause, everlasting/eternal) has done it. Right? The mere fact that He has done something would rule out the ability for that something to be a mistake. Isaiah 55:8-9 ~ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. |

Perfect timing on this guys quote, it coincided nicely with a few passages i read earlier! proverbs 16:18 & Jeremiah 49:16Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Thy terribleness (prestige) hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as tge eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD. |
