I visited that church once before the college moved from the other side of the freeway. I believe I recognized the name you mentioned, Dr. Contrell from attending Bethel Baptist some yrs ago. Lord bless

In one of our classes he said something that I don't think I'll forget, "Greeks will act like Greeks, it should not surprise us....though we know that what the gays do is disgusting and wrong that gives us no liscense to hate them or treat them bad, if we do we sin, we are to love our neighbor." He told us that he did debates on the topic, fighting against the acceptance for legalization of marriage of it in the 90's I believe, he was a real sharp and humble man. We should not hate gay people, we are commanded to love our neighbour, not call them gay and rejoice over our neighbors death.
In addition to this, the Holy Prophet has encouraged Muslims to recite this prayer according to the following hadith3: In response to Jim L, perhaps conflicting views, but I think the Muslims killing people do not view the word Allah as generic for deity.
the Holy Prophet has encouraged Muslims to recite this prayer according to the following hadith.
"Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, "To say: Glory be to Allah; Praise be to Allah; there is no god but Allah; and Allah is most great, is dearer to me than everything on which the sun rises."

Clearly they are not the same God and observant Muslims surely would also take issue with this given their refrain "Alla is greater," ...in their deceived view than the true and living God of the Bible.
The other irony with this particular progressive woman and others following her that will don a head covering in solidarity with Mohammedans, but they will wear devotional head cover in accordance with 1 Corinthians 11.

Joe the Protestant wrote: More leftist rhetoric. If people disagree with homosexuality, the are labeled Homophobic. Guess the whole police dept. must be cleptophobic, because the arrest bank robbers. Seriously, people don't even know what a phobia is anymore.
Another part of the problem is that the out-homosexuals seem to be validated in their sin by team mates and other students. When they're affirmed and feeling legitimized the trend seems to then be even more brazen in their wickedness.
Great Sermon! Based on the article, it sounds like an over-emphasis on a redemptive historical approach to preaching common in some reformed pulpits that tends to filter all passages in light of John 3:16. It can also be heard in dispensational camp though probably described as avoiding the inadequacy of moralism.
Thanks for addressing the story Pastor Harris.
