kevin wrote: I ask a simple question on the Reform Teaching of only the elect receiving salvation. How did Yahweh know which soul, Jacob or Esau, was good or bad?If Yahweh only decides to offer salvation to the good souls, then why would you have those sinful souls around, if salvation isn't offer to them? Just trying to make sense with those that believe the Churches teaching of Once Save always Save. Again, sifting through the fallacious arguments Kevin, to answer your question (assuming you are sincerely seeking an answer) saying "onced saved always saved" hinges on one's understanding of salvation. If God is doing the saving, "Wherefore,he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them". Those who are holding to a doctrine that men save themselves by their own doings, then of course they are not able to save themselves to the uttermost seeing they have no one but themselves to make intercession for them. Their salvation is one that can be lost and will be lost. But, this is not really salvation.God offers salvation to all men, but all men and every man born of the seed of Adam has rejected him, are rejecting him, and will reject him. "None doeth good." Rob wrote: I would applaud Clinton if she was the one who was freely giving the $50 Billion of her own money, but she's not. She wants to rob tax payers to do this. It's sad when Christians look to the coercive power of Government to force people to pay ever increasing amouts of tax to pay for things that the Church itself should be doing, funded by Christians freely and willingly giving. All the more reason to vote Ron Paul. This suggests that if the church were doing more, then the government would not be forcing us to pay ever increasing amounts of tax? I don't think you really believe that. The government is a tax engine to recycle corporate money back from the salaries they pay back into corporate profits. If the government would let people keep more of their money, they would be able to do more than have just enough to live. Giving to the poor is only a cover, a small percentage and then again, it is unconstitutional to give away what is not theirs to give even to the poor. "The poor you will have always with you." It will not be eliminated however much the government or the church give. Government officials always have and always break the constitution to use other peoples money to give away what is not theirs to give away. |
