I needed that Thank you again, Voddie. It truly is all about Who *He* is and understanding the reality of why we worship and what worship is from a Scriptural definition. As Job 36:5 says, "Behold, God is mighty." He is, and as you said, my brother, we do not do God a favor by showing up. May our worship truly be acceptable in His sight, for it is worthless if it is not.
Focused I have listened to the three message in this series over and over and will continue to do so as our country revolts more and more against our Godly heritage. So often Americans live in a mental bubble, much like the Jews of the New Testament, that our past will carry us unscathed through the future just because at some point there were people who loved and obeyed God. Not so. Our comfort and ease has become paramount, it seems, and Voddie flat out dispells that line of thinking from the Bible itself, not through grand storytelling. I so much appreciate his focus on the Word of God and not on himself. What a difference it makes in the Gospel truly going forth. I am grateful.
Humbling indeed Again, Christian who truly want to obey our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ need to hear this. Our society has grossly impacted our Christianity, and yet when we hear the truth set for with grace and power, as we hear it here, we cannot help but respond as the Holy Spirit works and weeds out the pride, pride, pride in our hearts. Thank you!
Responsibility Dr. Baucham nails American Christians to the wall with this as we face our own pride and rebellion. We have no right to look at the sin in our society when we fail to confess and *forsake* the sin in our own lives. Thank you, Voddie! Do not stop preaching the truth and more importantly living the truth, even when it costs.
“The core of my being is wanting to follow Jesus in a more literal way,” Mr. Joseph said. Did Jesus carry a rosary?
I do believe that we as "Christ"-ians, should be MORE counter-cultural in our approach to follow Christ; not so much in our outward apperance as in our hearts, minds, and actions.
This article also makes me ask this question: What is the Biblical role of an evangelist??
