Leyland said "1John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.""proposing JD maintains the position we are capable of not sinning, and further that if adam didn't sin, we would be perfect and capable of a sinless life! First of all I believe it to be error to propose JD thinks we can live a sinless life, he never once maintained that point of view from all I have seen him post. Second, if adam was capable of a perfect life, why did he sin then? interesting question which should lead one to believe that although adam had direct fellowship with God in the Garden, he still made a choice to obey or not to obey the Will of God. We as believers still wrestle with that choice, the unbeliever wrestles with the choice to believe the Gospel. Perhaps, and I haven't seen anybody put forth this yet, it was the bloodline which was tainted irrevocably apart from Jesus Christ who washed us in his blood. It is the perfect, sinless blood which paid the price for Adam's sin which affected us all. I see the connundrum for the Calvinist side is the fact would have to be admitted that A: we do have a will to or to not B: Christ died for the sins of the whole world and all can be saved but are not due to this choice mechanism Godgives |

Mike Said this "One cannot inherit another's sin. You did not inherit Adam's sin anymore than you inherited you earthly father's." Exactly, we inherited the sin nature. We are all charged for our own transgressions, not that of another man's. We shall all stand before God guilty of sin yet some will have an advocate that being Jesus Christ who paid a debt he didn't owe for us who owed a debt we couldn't pay! (I also believe it is nonsense the current popular teaching about generational sin) So, In other words, we are rebellious not humble, we are proud and arrogant, seeking our own instead of the perfect will of God. Our thoughts are filled with murder, envy, lust, the pride of life and we are naturally drawn to self gratification above all else. We are not born with that portion of spirit which comes from God and enables us to be in fellowship with him. We seek not God for the Natural man seeketh not after the things of God. Having said that, we love him because he first loved us. He hath quickened us (the brethren, the body of believers, the chosen ones, of a holy nation)by his spirit which he hath deposited into us. |

Hi JD, Mike, and Mike from NY, and Msc, those whom I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet. I see quite a spirited debate still cursing upon these pages. I Have not read all of the fours and against however, I would point out a serious flaw in a certain thought. The question has come up: Are we or are we not Dead in Trespasses and sin? JD seems to think we are not! However, the bible in various places teaches we are dead in trespasses and sin. We are still born in a matter of speaking, according to the Holy Scriptures. JD have you fallen off your senses in the year haitus frome here I took man? Maybe, I should give you the benefit of doubt to explain how you surmise such an unbiblical view/statment? Please elaborate to exonerate your biblicity sir! Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. Col 2:13 And YOU, being DEAD in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Eph 2:1 ¶ And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins; Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, ......... (bold emphasis mine) |
