I think that when people pray against establishments and something happens that removes those establishments from the public square, it may be possible that God had a hand in it. We fight not flesh against flesh, but against spirits and principalities of the air. Against wickedness in high places. If a man so loves his town that he prays that God will remove dens of iniquity and sexual immorality-which God judges very harshly-then, he has committed no sin. Who among us is to say whether God blew up this joint or not. If a church blows up, then perhaps God has blown it up. Pastor Lively only knows that he has prayed for the centers of sexual immorality to leave his town. I do not condemn him for seeing this as answer to that prayer. How can a man not have hope that his community will be delivered from sexual immorality, which if allowed to flourish will bring about destruction in the lives of the people of the community. Such things are a cancer. When Planned Parenthood clinics or abortion clinics close down, I know a good many people myself included who rejoice that God has shut down a killing center for babies. I will not accept rebuke for that. If God stops evil in some way, then still God should be Glorified. Man is not evil for thinking this. |
