Oh another Franklin Graham article on the board. He is very popular in America isn't he? The Arminians must be tremendously happy about this.

Does America have any good Biblical Calvinists these days?

What an UNBiblical statement.

You obviously don't trust God.
You obviously don't believe in election by God.
You obviously don't understand faith the gift of God.
So I assume you must be one of the Roman Arminians that are knocking about in churches trying to work their own ticket unto salvation.

What I cannot understand is why you Baptists still believe in the Anabaptist heresy which was invented in the year 1521.

When will you Baptists realise that the Old Testament is still very much in force and the Covenant of Grace begins in the book of Genesis.

PS for your edification Jesus is and always has been the Mediator of the Covenant of Grace.

May God be with you.

Sure it is, 1517. For the most part. But it took the Baptists to refine it and take out the obvious heresies brought over from the RCC.
The Baptists didn't have a WCF of their own so they had to "borrow" from the Biblical Presbyterians.

However since the Baptists decided 15 centuries later to RE-Invent the wheel on baptism they decided to add their human traditions to their version.

I see the WCF has been translated into other languages such as Chinese and Arabic and others. So the WCF will be an excellent source of teaching Scripture accurately to the nations. By the Grace of God.

John.
I agree with Ladybug on your Arminian leanings. Many times on posts throughout the years you have fallen into the trap of raising some aspect of human ability or faculty to the level of salvation by works.
The fact is that we have been able to perceive where you have introduced human action to coincide with the divine as if they were both essential unto salvation.

You have actively rejected the Doctrines of Grace in posts and we can see the abhorrence of Calvinism that is palpable in your statements.

But you shouldn't worry about it John, if you are Arminian simply declare it, we will still "Love our neighbour" as the Lord commands us.

Some comforting truth:-
"The God of Calvin is the good shepherd, who names and numbers his sheep, who saves the lost sheep and fends off the wolf. The God of Wesley is the hireling, who knows not the flock by name and number, who lets the sheep go astray and be eaten by the wolf. Which is more loving, I ask?" (Steve Hays)

Lurker has never been able to grasp the unilateral nature of the Abrahamic Covenant as per Genesis 15. Nor does he perceive the special relationship which the Covenant has with God's elect.
As per usual it is all a matter of correct exegesis which seems to be lost to the Baptist.

I appreciate your concern, but the problem is with proud half wits who attempt to defend the faith with a document revised and plagiarized from the WCF.
It is interesting that the Anabaptist/Baptist fraternity cannot receive the simple truth from Scripture. An interpretation error seed planted in 1521 has grown out of all proportion to create this neo-religious tradition.
The Roman Catholic Tradition is their "adding to Scripture" such idolatry as worship of dead sinners etc.
The Baptist "Tradition" is the deletion of those parts of Scripture which illustrate their Tradition is unbiblical, eg: Covenant and circumcision.

What you will find in debate with these Baptists is post loads of contempt but very little Bible evidence for their position.

I suppose that explains a great deal about them. When you are pretending to be Biblical whilst excluding junks of Scripture then it leaves you with very little else to fall back on except scorn for others.

The Reformers the puritans and many other strong Bible Christians in history have demonstrated the Covenant infant baptism and affusion to be entirely Bible based.
The Baptists only defence would appear to be "delete some verses."

And instead give us the nonsense of that Jesus somehow didn't spill His blood for the wicked
Oh Michael, Michael. You poor deluded Baptist. Can't you see the difference? Have you not read the Bible??
Do you dare to insult Christ Crucified?
Do you dare raise the evil spectre of idolatry?
Read the Bible Michael and perceive the use of the word "wicked"
It is the "sinner" which GOD records in the Bible which Jesus was sent to save - NOT the wicked.
What do they teach you from those cold pulpits of the unloved (2Thes 2:10) Word of God.
Do you hate Christ Crucified so much that you call His atonement on the cross ineffectual?? Was Christ's suffering not sufficient for your religion? Do you like the Arminian/Roman Catholic stretch it to all the wicked reprobates destined for hell?

Come to Christ and repent Michael.
1John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Meanwhile, most Reformed Baptists, who look to the Bible Alone as the sole-source for faith and practice, would never recite the Nicene Creed and have an inherent visceral disdain for the 1689 LBCF and other man-made inventions
Be careful now!! The phrase "most Reformed Baptists" is far too comprehensive a statement here.
Far to many Arminians in the Baptist organisation to say it thus.
BTW You papists love your strawmen don't you!

A real Reformed Baptist writing on the 1689 Confession says;
"This ancient document is the most excellent epitome of the things most surely believed among us. It is not issued as an authoritative rule or code of faith, whereby you may be fettered, but as a means of edification in righteousness. It is an excellent, though not inspired, expression of the teaching of those Holy Scriptures by which all confessions are to be measured. We hold to the humbling truths of God's sovereign grace in the salvation of lost sinners. Salvation is through Christ alone and by faith alone."
(C.H.Spurgeon)

I am just deliberating whether to call this heresy or just plain old speculative ignorance.

As for the Michael Servetus fiction re Calvin, I really wish people knew history before they blunder out this old LIE!!

Servetus was just one of thousands of both catholics and protestants who were burned at the stake for heresy - BECAUSE that was the justice and punishment system of the time.

But strangely our FREE WILL advocates never express any opinions about the thousands of others who died in this way. I WONDER WHY...

BTW Michael
I think you are getting the Sola's mixed up with the Biblical Calvinist Doctrines of Grace *TULIP* - Which are *NOT* the Sola's.

L-Limited Atonement
I-Irresistible Grace

As for "Personal Repentance"
Trust you to go for the Arminian factor!!!
