Sin's lust unquenched by punishment

“ Great Sermon! ”
The alphabet curse is such a heavy burden on our generation and utterly grievous to our holy God. How one's heart longs for the golden days of the 40's and the 50's when America's strength in God was glorious and celebratory. Thank God for the righteousness of Christ that covers believers in all ages, and for Jesus who says "I am Alpha and Omega". Pastor Romesh put his heart in taking us through Lot's anguish and agony before Sodom was finally destroyed. It was a riveting sermon and ought to have moved alphabet sinners to Christ.

Christ Restoring Sin's Stolen Years

“ Great Sermon! ”
I once said to someone witnessing to me: "I have everything I need. I don't need God." A domestic situation arose that upset and unsettled me, and I realised I did not have everything I needed. I turned to God and received Jesus as my Saviour. He has since become my anchor and the bedrock of my life. "On Christ the sold rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand" now underpins my belief. All along the locusts in Joel had been feeding on me, until my heart was truly ripened and in God's time I turned to Jesus and began feasting on him. He is everything I need!

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in His excellent word! What more can He say than to you He hath said, To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled? God has done everything necessary to anchor me to the blessed hope of Jesus Christ. There is nothing left to chance.

“ Great Sermon! ”
This message blessed me tremendously. Rev Kranendonk gives a warm glowing picture of a great gentle Saviour that moved me as I remember the time He rescued me when it seemed that I would have to carry my burden to the grave. He knew my situation, that I needed forgiveness, and He forgave me from the Scriptures, accompanied by his sweet personal presence. As good as calling aloud my name, as he did to Mary. In tenderness He sought me, weary and sick with sin …. A great message, indeed! Thank you.

I listened intently as there is a solemn warning here. I am so glad we are still in the day of grace although when 'hereafter' is here everything will change for the better.

The New Evangelical Downgrade -...
Dr. Peter Masters

“ Great Sermon! ”
What a blessing to listen to this message for the first time after it was preached 23 years ago. I had all the time suspect that most modern Christian messages, compared to those of earlier periods, were generally loose and had lost their original value. Dr Peter Masters put his finger on my misgivings. Thank God, we can have our footing established by the true pattern and true counsel when we do not seek to please men, notwithstanding that our goal is to fish for them. Dress fashions and social behavior may change but God said in Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord, I change not" and Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever."

Sermon:
The Unchangeable Christ
Dr. Alan Cairns

comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
I wandered into SermonAudio in the mid 90’s, heard the preaching of Dr Cairns and from then on I have been listening to him. It was with sadness as I later heard him announce his retirement and listened to the last message he preached at the church. Now after a decade he is back indefinitely. It’s just wonderful! Thank God for continuing to use Dr Cairns to speak his word at Faith Free. Dr Cairns is always full of Christ in his preaching, has always put Christ in the forefront of all his messages and leaves you in no doubt that his messages are Bible-backed with not a hint of input from man. His are the messages we need if we want to be in a fellowship that is faithful and steadfast, distinct and separate, and to walk the straight and narrow path. His expositions of the Word are eye-opening, uncompromisingly solid, inspiring. If you are hungry and thirsty and want to be fed, be led to this green pasture.

Sermon:
Christ Jesus on Heaven's Throne
Rev. David Kranendonk

“ Great Sermon! ”
Christ put aside his kingly status to become one akin to my fleshy substance while I was yet in unrecognizable form. Then he took all my sins and bore them to Calvary so I am forever free of them, and in the Father’s eyes I can be as sinless as he is. Yes, this is fantastic but not fantasy! Now He secures me to Himself and leads me on a journey that will take me to the realm where he is now enthroned. Not a dreamy wish as I now engage in flesh and blood battles to win the war that has already been won by the Captain who watches over me as his prized trophy. Not one ounce of merit to attain heaven on my own, I rest solely on the finished work of deliverance by the Lamb of God. What did I do to earn this favor? Believe in him whom God has sent.

Sermon:
God's Message About Cruelty
Rev. David Kranendonk
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
A roundly illuminating discourse. Thank you. It is a blessed assurance to know that God is above all sorts and all forms of cruelty. Rev Kranendonk asks: Would it not be the most fearful message if cruelty is greater than God, then cruelty will have the final word? Yes, it would be the most fearful and terrifying thing than even if a comet hit the earth! It would mean that the martyrs beginning from Abel, from every of the first disciples of Christ and down through the ages, as well as those now in North Korea and Africa would have died for nothing. It would mean that my hope is built on nothing, and that the blood of Jesus counts for nothing. Thankfully that is not so, and my hope is built on Jesus’ blood and righteousness and on God who is unquestionably sovereign no matter what. The name of every one who died for Christ is kept in heaven’s vault. In the context of on-going persecutions and massacres, God is not blind. He watched as Stephen was stoned to death and he stood on his feet to welcome him. Will he do less for his new martyrs? This message brings me nearer to the Cross and the Risen Saviour who wept for me before He saved me, and to the unfathomable workings and designs of the Great God and into His Everlasting Arms. Such is my privilege.

The Danger in These Last Days
Rob VanDoodewaard

“ Great Sermon! ”
I am not making a comment but I question the Comment posted earlier: "This is an excellent insight into how we should view these "last days" agenda. While things continue to get worse, this sermon gave me a new perspective on how I looked at the Rapture that I believed would happen soon. But as in this message God make instead let us live in excess of our sinful living until it overwhelms us and then the Rapture will come. A very interesting viewpoint that I didn't give much thought to before." Here it is advocated "... let us live in excess of our sinful living ...". Am I reading it right or does the writer mean something else? SermonAudio, please put it right!

“ Great Sermon! ”
This is a testimony showing that with God by our side we need not fear. Satan had a field day with me as a newly converted Christian. Night after night he terrorized me, threatened me if I did not do what he wanted: immediately get up from sleep for no reason. ‘Get up, get up, if not something bad is going to happen to you. Get up, get up!’ I tried to ignore the threats, fearing most the threats of death, as they were so real and persistent that I never once resisted. Out of fear I dragged myself from sleep, awoke fully and faced a miserable day ahead. Night after night he came at me that way and drained me. Newly in the faith, I had a desire to copy the scriptures as a way of learning them. It was God’s mercy and leading that I started copying from the book of 1 John. When Satan taunted me again on that Battle of Waterloo night, the verse from 1 John 4:4 came to me: “... greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” ‘Is this true? Really true? It must be. It’s in the Bible.’ Backed by this Scripture I called Satan’s bluff: 'I don’t care, I’m not waking up. I’m going back to sleep. Do what you want!’ I turned over, slept without a single care and only recalled my victory the next morning. Hallelujah! The clout of God roundly routed Satan. Praise God!

“ Great Sermon! ”
Eternity begins with an "h". In our unregenerated state our feet will lead us to the first "h", to Dante's banner "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here." The second "h" is the embrace of Abraham's bosom, "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." By God's grace may I be found on the right side all the time.

Sermon:
Who Can be Compared to Thee?
Rev. David Kranendonk
3
comments
“ Great Sermon! ”
God is God and I am his created being. How can any of his creation describe him? As I grew from a child to an adult, I could describe the attributes of my father and mother and then came to a complete stop. Can I do that with God? Rev Kranendonk has served up a very satisfying meal and it is my privilege to have ingested it, and to make it a recurring meal, such is its banquet appeal. There is no one word over another I could choose to describe God, although I could name a few: incomparable, awesome, infinite, eternal, magnanimous, magnificent, omnipotent, omniscient, merciful, long-suffering and so on. For God no single name or combination of names is enough. On bended knees is my only homage.

Can any word from my mouth or pen describe God adequately? Are there words of thanks that can convey my depth of feeling? No and no! To a superlative God all my words are superfluous. My tears and my once-broken heart, they speak better.

God has given me everything to become a King, Prophet and Priest. Jesus so declared it when he said triumphantly "It is finished!" God has packed everything so tightly for me to become a Christian. It is I who unravel the package. But for grace and more grace I would still be lost.

Christ Promises the Comforter to Teach
Rev. David Kranendonk

“ Great Sermon! ”
It’s the beginning of an understanding of God teaching me by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is bandied about so loosely that I have never fully understood what it means by God teaching me thru his spirit. Now I get a glimpse, like the first dawn. What a privilege it is to have such an one-to-one teacher, more precious than silver or gold.

I have been blessed to have listened to this broadcast. God never comes to us empty-handed. In every way he provides all that we need, here the Scriptures, and its commendable presentation by Rev Macleod. We just need to give it our ear and heart.
