Whenever someone who's starting a ministry sends out questionnaires to the unbelievers in the community. To ask what type of "church"they would like, that's a pretty good indication of what type they're going to get.
Jesus has a no compromise gospel that unbelievers will not stand for.
Jesus is our example to follow in the preaching of his own word. As far as one commenter saying that Joel waters down the gospel and then goes on to say that this is the "milk"the writer of Hebrews was referring to in chapter 5 verse 12,I believe this is wrong.I believe the "milk"is referring to the basics of the gospel, that these folks hadn't grasp yet and were not ready to go into the deeper things of God.Verse 13 says that those who need milk are unskillful in the word of righteousness. I believe Paris Reidhead said it best, that God had given Christ a people and if he would preach what he gave him,the chosen ones would come.If he had changed his message,he would have changed the type of people who come to him. Joel HAS changed the message, and therefore the crowds that follow him are changed also by the message preached.
